Halloween Challenge

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

:dracula:This is a challenge NOT to eat ANY candy on Halloween!!:badbat:

I know I don't need to sit at home and eat fun sized candy bars!!!!

Who is with me?

jahjah1223 10-30-2008 10:54 PM

I think we should at least have ONE lol :o

Iconised Ghost 10-30-2008 11:10 PM

im with you, but its easy for me because i lock my gate to trick or treaters and dont have any candy for them anyway :P which is kinda like cheating i guess

Taylor86 10-31-2008 12:24 AM

I am not gonna have ANY not one piece!

mazza 10-31-2008 12:28 AM

I'm not going to have any candy. I wish I could control myself but when it comes to sugar, even a small piece can trigger me and I won't risk it!

Saturdays are usually my (500 calorie) treat day - so it helps to know that I'm only holding off till tomorrow.

CatRocks 10-31-2008 04:46 AM

Im in! Im going to a halloween party dressed as an Incredible so i think the fact that all im wearing is red tights with plack hotpants on top is enough to put me off eating any sweets...my legs need to look awesome!!

Thirded or fourthed or whatever on the no-Halloween-Candy.

I have mini Kit-Kats sitting downstairs. Lordy do I ever want to eat them...

BUT I WON'T EVEN HAVE ONE! :D

They have wheat and gluten in them anyhow, so I shouldn't either way. ;)

Taylor86 10-31-2008 11:05 AM

W00t! We can do it girls! Happy Halloween!

prepping 10-31-2008 11:11 AM

Happy Halloween!! I'm in for the challenge! There's about 4 boxes of treats at home, plus a potluck at work. So my challenge will include not having any dessert of any kind!

yay to the 2nd day of completely getting back onto diet and workout plan!(great timing eh?)

caligirl98 10-31-2008 11:20 AM

Oops...I already lost, just had 2 fun size milky ways. LOL!

thatgirl1024 10-31-2008 11:25 AM

this is just so sad. i am so depressed today. :( I feel so deprived of fun and
past traditions.

You know, Halloween is not usually much of a problem for me, because I don't really have a sweet tooth. I have a wicked "salty/savory tooth" though. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it... Thanksgiving I am scared of. However, I am going out tonight, to a bar... Um, so my Halloween challenge is not to go way the **** over my calories by drinking too much!

Aw, honey, really? You shouldn't. Yeah, childhood nostalgia dictates eating junk until you feel ill, but I'd like to think that there's more than that. What else did you do on Halloween? Carve pumpkins? Watch scary movies?

I watch the cartoon Halloween special "The Halloween Tree" every single year. I'm not going out or doing anything tonight because I'm working from 4 until 9... and then again tomorrow morning at 9. I intend to go home after work, throw on my Halloween special, and help my housemates get into their costumes and such. :)

Last year, I spent Halloween in the library... but even so, I got together a group of friends a few days before and watched old Goosebumps and "Are You Afraid of the Dark" episodes. :D

just keep swimming 10-31-2008 11:54 AM

Are You Afraid of the Dark! Love it! That was back when kids' TV shows were awesome!

Jelbb 10-31-2008 11:57 AM

Ohhh, so entertaining...

Click on "continue to content." :)

caligirl98 10-31-2008 12:02 PM

Man, I can never catch the 'Halloween Tree' anymore, so I now count on Hocus Pocus to put me in a Halloween mood.

Jelbb 10-31-2008 12:08 PM

I don't think they play it on TV anymore. Too old-school.

Thank God for the internet though: The Halloween Tree

Scroll down and click, "Watch the Halloween Tree Full." As long as you have DivX, it's a perfect copy of the movie in full. If you don't have DivX, get it!! :D

just keep swimming 10-31-2008 12:08 PM

Hocus Pocus! Another gem! What a kick-*** cast that movie has.

Jelbb, that first link won't work for me...

I've never heard of the Halloween Tree. Will have to check it out.

leighish 10-31-2008 12:10 PM

ooooh now I want to watch Hocus Pocus!

Jelbb 10-31-2008 12:12 PM

It's fixed, Jess!

Hocus Pocus Links

leighish 10-31-2008 12:13 PM

thanks jelbb!

just keep swimming 10-31-2008 12:15 PM

Thanks, other Jess! ;) Oh, the nostalgia!

thatgirl1024 10-31-2008 12:30 PM

I miss those shows! I used to always watch "Snick"!! Are you afraid of the dark was my all time fav!! Yeah tonight I plan on having some girlfriends over and watching scary movies....but along with that is POPCORN!! My friend makes to die for fresh kettle korn!! I really just dont want to ruin everything I have worked for, and it just bums me out because I feel like Im not involved bc im not eating what they are eating. Everyones like "oh its not gonna make you gain your 71lbs back again....I know that but I am just so afraid that I NEVER want to get like that again.
Thanks for your advice Jelbb!!

Jelbb 10-31-2008 12:36 PM

Well, no, saying "yes" to the kettle corn this once isn't going to insta make 71 lbs reappear. But you've made a lifestyle change based on being able to say no when you know it's better for you in the long run, and they'll just have to respect that. ;)

Have you given any thought to going out and buying some light popcorn?

luvja 10-31-2008 04:33 PM

Lets do this ladies!

luvja 10-31-2008 04:34 PM

I must confess though - After I got weighed in today, I headed to Tim Hortons and bought a pumpkin spice muffin :yikes: Probably full of fat! It had cheese icing in the middle of it, but I just HAD to try one since they will be gone soon!. I did good all week, so I'm telling myself that was my halloween treat. :D ;)

P.S. it was totally worth it. Simply DE-LISH!

leighish 10-31-2008 04:39 PM

UGH I MISS TIM HORTONS SO MUCH. No idea. As soon as I hit a Canadian airport its the first place I go. Seriously.

Lmao. Timmies is the shiznet :)

luvja 10-31-2008 04:45 PM

NO NO, I take that back. Timmies made me fat. Yes, I'm just going to blame it on Timmies. ;)

1 in 3 Canadians are addicted to Tim Hortons :p
It's a horrible sickness.

leighish 10-31-2008 04:49 PM

I blame the iced cappucinos.

Taylor86 10-31-2008 09:09 PM

I haven't had any candy yet and I am not gonna but I did find 100 calorie packs of kettle corn by popsecret and I am eating that

jahjah1223 10-31-2008 10:17 PM

i only had one bite size pack of m&ms and a tiny butter finger :o i could have done worse!

Jassica 10-31-2008 10:40 PM

lol Im not.. :p

Jelbb 10-31-2008 10:40 PM

I ate one small box of candy stick thingers. That's all. :) And I put all the leftover Halloween candy in a ziploc bag and gave it to my sister in law to take to the party she went to with my brother tonight.

Free of Halloween temptation. ;)

Taylor86 10-31-2008 10:43 PM

Bah - I had a fun sized snickers. But only one cause the boy brought it home from the gas station when he went for coffee. OH WELL! Not a big deal...

luvja 10-31-2008 11:29 PM

I went to my friends house who is vegan, and had a vegan pizza roll! It was absolutley discusting! Fake ground meat just turns me off? And I won't even get into my issue with the vegan "cheese". Anywho - I remained candy free! Woo!
