Should I or Shouldn't I?

So I've been fighting the urge to dye my hair for a while, and recently a couple people saw pictures of me as a blonde and said they thought it looked nice. So I'm looking to see what non-partial 3rd parties think.

Another problem I've always had is I don't know what kind of blonde to go with. I overheard some old lady at the store say "Ash" was for people who were naturally blonde, and I feel like things that are too red make my very Irish complexion look really red. Any tips on that would be appreciated. :)

I don't know much - but I think keeping your dark and adding some fiesty blond highlights would look funky :)

i think you look nice both ways :) as for what kind of blonde, i have no idea, but i think that you might not want to go much blonder than in the pic

I think you look nice with either shade-- brown or blond-- the blond in the pic is very nice.

I personally think you should do both colors :D

Thanks everyone! I'm still a bit on the fence, but highlights... I hadn't thought of that for some reason. I'll have to investigate. :D

I like the brown better, and bright blond highlights would be good too!

I think highlights would look really good :)

I used to do a blonde shock for the bangs, red for the bulk of my hair (with black and blonde highlights) and black from the bottom of my ears down on the underside.. It was awesome until I ran out of money and my dishwater blonde showed through!!!

I know you said you don't like red, but I think you would look gorgeous as either a strawberry or a copper blond, imo. The barbie blond looks okay, but I don't think it's doing much for your features or complexion.

Even a chestnut brown or a Merlot would look gorgeous on you, especially with those dark blue-grey eyes. :)

It's so hard to tell from photos on the internet, but I think you want something with warm tones in it, like you had before. Not reddish blonde, just a warm blond. I'm not thinking ash blond is right on your complexion. But like I said, it's hard to tell except in natural light.

My hair actually gets sort of chestnutty in the summer when it gets sun, it is a little bit right now but it's hard to see. If I leave it, it'll probably get that way next summer it's only got about an inch of virgin hair right now.

I think I might actually leave it like it is. :dizzy: It hasn't felt this nice in a long long time and I got some bleach today at Sally's but I just can't bring myself to use it. :o

Although I also got some protein stuff because that's what the lady who cut it used and it made it feel *amazing.* So at least I get to use that without worry. :)

I colored my hair so much I forgot what my natural color was. I started with it at an inch long (I shaved it off during basic after I ripped a huge chunk out when it got stuck in barbed wire. Ouch!) and now it's down the middle of my back, a few inches shy of my waist. I must tell you, I was mortified to discover that after years of thinking my hair was as dark brown as you could get before being black, that it's actually dark reddish brown. Go Creole albino genes.

Did you get that yellow spray from Beyond The Zone? It's a protein filler, it's cheap too. I love love looooooooove that stuff! It's the only thing that detangles my hair.

As a non biased observer, let me say that I think you look better with dark hair. You do have that Irish pale skin tone (as do I) and the blonde typically doesn't go as well with it because it washes us out.

Highlights would be good I think, if you want some blonde. Or even light brown

Some strawberry highlights I think would look good. Although it is fall and you should always go with the seasons as to what color your hair should be. As for me I just dyed mine a mahoghany color and I LOVE IT!!! At the beginning of the summer I totally went blonde(I am naturally a dark brown but haven't seen it in a while)I should post some pics so you can see...then maybe it will give you some ideas.
1st one is me now
2nd one is me blonde
3rd one is me between the two

maybe a dark blonde, or a light brown...i think that'd look nice.
