oh jeez, do i need this?

i really want a smoothie. to be specific, i really want a carribean way smoothie from smoothie king. and according to the website it's 395 calories. i'm pretty good with managing my calories and everything, but i had some ice cream last night and now i REALLY want this freaking smoothie.

is it worth it? someone talk me down!

YelleeGil 10-23-2008 02:33 PM

If you want it, try getting it with splenda instead of turbanado. That'll reduce the calories by a lot!

JamieJo 10-23-2008 02:33 PM

NOOOOOOOOOO...do you really need it? You know that spot that you ALWAYS notice in the mirror like at the top of your legs on the side that stick out that you really hate??? Do you really want to fill that spot with more smoothie?!?!?

How'd I do?? :)

JamieJo 10-23-2008 02:34 PM

I really want some boneless buffalo wings...or just chicken strips, fried of course, with ranch sauce. Or chinese food. My DH has been gone for awhile and is home this afternoon...wants to take me out. I really really want one of these items......

oh my gosh, you just made me imagine pouring invincible smoothie into my love handles and maybe i'll just wait till next week or something to get it. so, a+ on talking me down.

oh, and i know. freaking chinese food gets me every time. and even if i do eat it, i can't just stop. it's like i go on a eating marathon or some kind of contest with whoever i'm with. it's horrible.

LMAO!!! Too funny. I needed a good laugh this afternoon! I was actually trying to describe that place on your legs...like right below your hips actually on your leg that sticks out...(that bothers me!!!) But after I re-read it, it could have been understood as love handles too! Guess I did a REALLY good job then! hehe!

And thank you Jen - That cracked me up!!!

FB 10-23-2008 02:42 PM

Yeah Jamie - You'd better not do that! You cracked the 150's and want to stay there! You'll be really sad in the 5# challenge tomorrow if you report a gain.

And aml, great job on waiting until next week for the smoothie! Bravo!

With that said, I'm craving some chocolate :)

junebug41 10-23-2008 02:44 PM

Chinese food. Don't even get me started. Salt, rice, sauces.... I think one of the things that makes it so easy to binge on is the fact that I can eat SO much of it! And an hour later I'm ready for more! Seriously. I just need to stay away.

JamieJo 10-23-2008 02:49 PM

OH FB - You drill SGT you! How did you find me here?? ;) tee hee! Can I just order the chicken strips and only eat half...bring the other half home for the dogs? :)

Chinese food just kills me too. I really like the chicken/broc (not general tsos) but the stuff in the white sauce....and no body can tell me how bad that is for me. We don't have a chinese chain here so when I've tried looking to up on the internet and such, I can't get any real answers. The weight watcher book says chicken/broc is 2 points a cup...If that is the case, AWESOME! I'm eating there...but I know know what the sauce is in the stuff I like so I have no idea how many points it would really be...I've tried asking the people that work there but they don't speak very good English and I don't think they understand what I'm asking for. ;( But I'm with you June on eating a ton of it and then wanting more an hour later! It's just so yuummmmyyyy

I used to love chinese food.. like I could eat 2 quite possibly 3 plates at a chinese buffet. Over my birthday weekend (about 2 weeks ago) my friends were in town and we went for chinese, my first plate was a salad and my second was just a little bit of rice, some green beans and cho cho.. I was saving my for my third plate of some serious garlic chicken and lo mein. I could not eat another bite. I made myself sick, literally throwing up sick, just trying to eat that food. It was a bad deal.. I don't really crave it anymore.

aml 10-23-2008 05:14 PM

i can't wait till next week, i want this smoothie so bad!

but i can wait till the morning and have it for breakfast. also, i found an alternative that's 100 calories less, so i think i'll go for that.

and oh man, i want some chinese food now.

JulieJ08 10-23-2008 06:26 PM

Hey, if you have ice cream and such now and then ... Smoothie King will still be there when that times rolls around again. :carrot:

butterflyangels 10-23-2008 08:33 PM

mmmmmm.... now I want chinese food, on top of my other craving of Ben and Jerry's.

vdaybaby 10-23-2008 08:47 PM

girl I just wanted a cinnamon bagel with pumpkin cream cheese sooo bad and I had to talk myself out of it...you can do it too!

Star2Be 10-24-2008 01:00 AM

^ OMG that sounds sooo unspeakably delicious! LOL I can't tell if reading this thread is helping me stave off my cravings, or just making them worse! ;)

My worst craving today was when I went to rehearsal for my a cappella group at school, and of the girls in the group had made chocolate chip banana bread... Soooo yummy. I confess, I had some, but just half a slice! And it was d*** scrumptious! Hehe. But I seriously probably could have polished an entire loaf of that stuff. :dizzy:

I like the image of pouring the smoothie into your leg, too, LOL. I will have to remember that the next time I'm contemplating something unhealthy...

kamesennin 10-24-2008 02:03 AM

Oh man Chinese food is EBIL!!! I blow up like a balloon from the msg/salt combo and just regret it the next day. but it tastes so goood....

What did you decide to do on the smoothie? :devil:Did you make your own? Nights after dinner are horrible for me. I spend the evening wandering around trying not to think about putting food in my mouth.

garstar 10-24-2008 11:27 AM

If you have a freshens near by, they have GREAT smoothies for under 100 calories! Big ones to!

Chinese.... yum...

But just think of how SICK you'll feel after you eat it, aahhhhh

Sounds great, so I had to look, and no luck. But man, whoever designed their locations page on their website should be fired. Unless it was the owner's nephew. Then he just shouldn't be allowed to design anything else. ;)

garstar 10-24-2008 04:19 PM

try coldstone, I used to work there.

Ask for the berry trinity or the strawberry banana, but ask them to just use half or all WATER instead of the sorbet base (that's where the calories are). Also under 100 calories, and TONS of fruit :) get a booster too :) yum!

sunflowergirl68 10-26-2008 04:04 AM

You should get it, dump half of it out, and eat the other half. you don't need to have the whole thing. If you only eat half, that's 200 calories.
