Also, washing more often than needed is hard on clothes, and they won't last as long.

I am like the rest of you.. only wash things when they are dirty. I wash my towels once a month, I use each one for 1 week and then pile them up and do a huge load! Uniforms are another thing, I feel like I am constantly washing them, ugh!

Personally, I really like the way a pair of jeans feels on day two. They fit like they were made just for me -- which I suppose they sort of were since they had all of the first day to conform to my body shape. :)

However, I don't wear the same shirt twice -- except for PJ/Loungy type clothes -- those I'll wear a couple of times. Undies, of course, are a one time item.

Bras, however...I'll wear those suckers three or four times -- maybe more. I NEVER own enough of them. They are SO expensive for such a little flippin' strip of clothing, and right now I am going through the bra sizes at lightening speed due to the weight loss. If it doesn't stop soon, I'm not going to even need the dang things so I want have to worry about it...

LOL! I don't think I've washed a pair of jeans in like 2 years. I buy a ton, so when they stop fitting right; I throw them away and start on a new skin tight pair. I LOVE the way new jeans feel. I only wash once a month, so I have enough clothes to last me that long. A long time ago, I noticed that I wasn't the only one like this. How often do you hear folks say, "Crap! And I just washed this!" You know the feeling, you just washed a shirt that you can get a least three wears out of and you spill some soup on that first day. Now that shirt is done until the next time you do laundry.

Sigh. Yes, my white things never make it past one wearing :o.

Underwear and my workout outfit (I only have one) are the only things that get the 1 wear policy attached to them. I wear bra 4-5 times or until the elastic gets so stretchy things to sit right.

But if I ever need anything washed my house can do 3 loads of laundry a day and then do like 5-6 on Saturday. My sisters haven't caught onto the wear it more than once theory.......

I wear jeans every single day. I have 3 pairs. I wash them every 2-3 weeks.

You do the math. ;)

(I think we can all agree that underwear is a very different situation!)

I'm out of college a year and a half now and I still do this. Most shirts I wash after one wear, except for PJ shirts. They can usually last a few days until the PJ pants are ready for a wash. I wear jeans about 3 or 4 times before I wash them. Towels go a week and then I switch them out...sheets too. Blankets and stuff can go a few weeks! haha. But, of course, panties are only worn once! Bras can last about a week.

heck yeah, as gross as it might sound, washing clothes is not the highest of priorities to me.

celigirl88 10-21-2008 04:24 PM

I do the same thing. Usually sometimes when Im getting ready and think to myself, O that shirt would look good and I see it in the hamper, I'll see if its absolutely dirty/smelly/anything spilled on it, and usually nothing is so I wear it. I wear my jeans a couple times before I wash them unless I get mud or dirt on them or spill something on them that you can tell its there. I think its kinda pointless to do laundry every couple days since you only wear a certain amount of clothes in that time anyways. It also saves money on electricity since your not running it all the time. I wash undies and socks every couple days though, and I only wear those once and thats it.

My house doesn't have a washer and dryer so I take my laundry over to my friends house every Tues morning. I could last probably two weeks without doing laundry but I do my bf's too and his clothes are huge so it almost triples the number of loads I have to do. He wears his shirts and shorts so long (granted he's tall but he's only about 200lbs) they fill up the washer really fast. I wear athletic clothes most of the time, I was an athlete most of my life so my drawers are stuffed full of them- and I ride my bike to school and jeans aren't really that comfy for that. It actually makes working out easier because I'm already dressed for the gym if I have extra time I just run across campus and work out! That way I have one set of clothes per day instead of 2.. like I will soon when I have to graduate and grow up :( That'll be a whole new story.

haha when I leave the house today, I'm going to think about all the people walking around wearing DIRTY CLOTHES!

And i'm one of them :) hehehehee

"This shirt is Dry-Clean only, which means, it's never been washed"
-Mitch Hedberg

I thought I was the only one who could relate to this! I have sweaters I have really never washed (why bother, they look fine!)

I used to do this with jeans when I was bigger (chubby girls have a hard time fitting into freshly washed jeans..go figure) but now, I literally have to wash them all the time because of how stretched they get after each wearing. I refuse to keep spending money on jeans because I'm dropping sizes so fast, so I often times am guilty of dump-butt. But it's worth it. I like dropping sizes:-)
