  • I'm so stinkin excited!

Every Monday morning at my work, we have a production meeting. 5 of us cram into an office. The guy sits at his desk and there are two other chairs. Since I'm the only female I always get a seat, but I NEVER sit in the skinny chair. It's an old chair, it has arms, but it's way smaller than a regular chair with arms. I make sure I always sit in the other chair. Well, today that one was taken and they were waiting on me to sit down to start the meeting.

I walked to the chair silently praying that I would be able to fit! I sat down with no problem! I have sat in this chair before just to try it out a few months ago when no one was looking. I couldn't fit. Now, today! I fit with extra room!

I didn't know that it would be this fast, but I'm so excited. It's a huge mile stone for me.
  • Nice! Sometimes it seems like life is sending us these little moments just for encouragement.
  • LOL! I still have a fear of sitting in rickety old wooden chairs. Good for you. I can't wait to sit in a chair and my whole butt fits in it...you know, not hanging over the sides. Like, back in my bigger days, I hated trying to fit into the movie seats with the arm that comes down because I would sit and pull the arm down and it came down on top of my thigh. Sooooooo annoying. I can't wait for the day when I can sit in a chair without doing scientific calculations of weight and mass and structure strength and what not.
  • WaHOOOOOO!!!! You rock the skinny chair! I remember two years ago the first time I flew without asking for the seat belt extension, I was so excited I told everbody sitting around me.

I just had to switch from quick reply to advanced because this calls for dancing carrots.

  • Ghost- Yay! The dancing carrots! I almost told the guys, but they wouldn't get it and they would look at me like I was crazy. lol I'm so glad I can tell y'all!

Cal- I totally understand. It's like I have to be a math major to see if I can fit into a chair.

Julie- Heck yes it does. I'm glad it wasn't embarrassing!
  • Congratulations! What a great NSV.
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That is so amazing - A few years ago I sat on a friend's kitchen chair and it broke!! She of course said oh, don't worry, that's the broken chair. But still, I'll never forget it.

Sitting on the skinny chair must feel so good!!!

Yes, especially b/c I broke a chair at the office a few months ago! It was old, but still, it was awful! so I know how that feels.
  • Congrats!!! i had that this weekend 2 but we went to the movies n i fit in the chair with no problems with room to spare cuz the last time that i went was the last pirates of the Caribbean movie n i didnt fit well actually it was so bad that i took the arm of it off not on purpose but accidentally. so im happy.
  • WOW! I am telling you, it's the small things that keep us going. I too am waiting for the day I can sit at my kitchen table and my butt doesn't hang over the side. At my size (see to the side) I am the smallest person at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and I am always forced into the smallest places, even when I don't fit right. When I was younger and smaller, this was never an issue, but now i feel like everything spills out around me.

  • Your post made me laugh. Good for you!!!!
  • That's awesome!
  • that is soooo great! I can totally relate to these moments, all this extra effort we have to put in to make things comfortable... and it looks like there is one more thing you can cross of your list, having to worry about getting a certain chair!!! I can picture it in my head, and I'm doing a happy dance for you!!
  • Thanks everyone! I almost didn't post this, but it's about the process and the small/ big victories. Yay!!!!!
  • Yay for you! I hope this is motivation to keep going!
