Gym Routines
basically as the title says....
when you go to the gym.... which machines do you use and how long do you use them for.... |
when i go i tend to use only machines like treadmills, cross trainers, and cycle machines. When i do the weights class, obviously i use weights. I'm too scared to use the actual weight machines by myself, im scared i'll kill myself or someone else :D but i am thinking of being brave and trying out the row machine next week

I like to try and use as many free weights as i can. I use the cardio machines. Usually 15 min warm up on the treadmill...If its a cardio day its 45min on either the treadmill, bike or elliptical. The machines that i usually use are the ones that work your hamstrings, calfs and back. I usually do 3 sets of 12

I don't have a gym membership, though I'll probably get a pass for the campus recreation center once school starts. Gotta have somewhere to work out once the weather turns cold!
My workout routine currently looks something like this: Monday - Hiking (moderate to strenuous intensity) Tuesday - Free weights + walking, running, or swimming for 30 min. Wednesday - Hiking (moderate to strenuous intensity) Thursday - Free weights + walking, running, or swimming for 30 min. Friday - Practice belly dance or take a walk Saturday - I alternate between taking a day off and going for a longer hike Sunday - Belly dance class (1 hour) I usually take one day off a week - either Friday or Saturday. |
During the semester I use the gym.. I will either do both the treadmill and elliptical (20 minutes each) or I'll do all elliptical (30-40 minutes) and about 10 minutes on the stair climber.. I do interval training on the treadmill, but I'm having a harder time applying that to the elliptical but that's what I try to do.
I bought a Callanetics DVD so as soon as I buy a mat, I'm going to be doing in my room at the dorm.. |
