Cravings, like, NOW!

  • I don't know WHAT is going on - it's not my TOM, and I just had dinner an hour ago - but I have the strongest urge to go to the refrigerator and just INHALE everything that's inside.

Maybe this is my body adjusting to being back OP after slacking on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday????

In any case, it needs to STOP!!!! I will NOT go over my calorie limit again today - especially since tomorrow's my weigh-in day!!!

  • be strong! Get distracted! do a crossword puzzle!
  • Good idea. I'm searching the net for printable crossword puzzles...
  • I read somewhere that craving last about 10 min if you distract yourself by doing something for that long hopefully it will subside.

Those 10 minutes last for like an eternity lol. I gave into a beef jerky craving today... I put the bag down twice while i was in the store but I still managed to find it in my bag when I left
  • I lasted an hour, then ate a FiberOne bar. Hopefully that will satisfy me...
  • I love fiber one bars. the apple streusal wins hands down
  • Oooo - haven't tried that one. But I'm addicted to the Chocolate Oat bars!
  • Oh, the dreaded third day munchies!! When ever I start back On Plan, I get TOTALLY ravenous on the third day. I do a couple of things. One is drink a Coke Zero while reading old threads on 3FC. Reading about dieting helps my resolve. The other is to pull out some crochet project or other that I'm working on. This helps in several ways. One, if you eat while crocheting the thread will not slip through your hands right, plus you might get whatever it is nasty. Second, and this especially true if it's a large project, it can really be a pain to get up once you've got all that stuff out and strewn across your lap.
  • what is TOM
  • time of month
  • Got it, THANKS!

So my cravings last night could have resulted from off-plan eating! How sucky! - but good motivation to stay OP!

YES, I know what you mean!! I started my plan almost exactly three weeks ago and I had perfectly untouchable willpower, no giving into cravings AT ALL until August 5th, my birthday... I went a little crazy and binged when I really shouldn't have. And now I'm finding that since then, I've been getting a lot more random cravings. I can still resist them pretty well, but before I had gotten to the point where I barely craved those bad things anymore, or at least it had gotten really easy to think of healthier alternatives. I must have weaned myself off of all the sugar and salt, etc since it had been so long since I'd had any of that stuff, hehe. So I find it reeeeally frustrating that I'm basically having to start over and wean myself off of it again. I can definitely relate to the temptation. But I still haven't given in to it since my birthday--yea!

Lots and lots of for you! Be strong!
