Toxic Fat?
I have read that your fat holds in it various toxins, built up from what you have eaten over years and years, is this true? My skin has been really bad lately (well worse than usual anyway) and i was wondering if that could be part of it. Obviously there are lots of factors affecting it, like the change in diet, the fact that it is winter, my nervous tension and stress at the begining of the year, and running out of my preferred moisturiser, but i did not expect those factors to cause such a large change in skin quality
|
Hows your water intake? I've found that water is the #1 contributor to bad skin-for me anyway. If I get really dehydrated I break out immediately. If I drink a lot of water my skin is lovely and clear.

my water intake is probably a little low, but it hasnt changed for months so it shouldnt account for the change in skin condition, but you're right, it probably doesnt help
|
Well as you become more active your body's chemistry does change. You're working out more and sweating more. If you're dehydrated, the combination of sweat and dead skin cells is going to cause breakouts.

I've been breaking out lately too (grrrr). I know I'm getting plenty of water, and since I've drastically cut my sugar and fat intake, I don't think they're the culprits.
There are a number of diet-related things that can cause acne - for some people it's dairy, for others sugar, for some gluten. Why not play with your diet a little and see if it changes anything? |
in order for my skin to stay pristine (or as close as it can get lol) i know i have to stick to an extremely strict diet, which is basically non dairy, non sugar, non caffeine, non preservative, non artificial flavourings, non preservative, non pork (of all things!) and almost totally organic. I stuck to it a while back and had improvements, but its very hard, so now i usually pick bits of it. So i've cut out the sugar, i'll try cutting out the caffeine and having more water to flush my system out. Isnt skin a funny thing

cutting all dairy made the biggest difference with my skin.. chugging water and regular sweating of course helps. but dairy is killer for me.
