Hungry, Craving, or Just Different?

Ok, so i've been pretty good with my diet. I have been having just 3 meals a day, with little to no snacking, staying within my daily limits for carbs and fat etc. When i do snack its on stuff like carrot sticks, apples- healthy stuff. I've almost completely cut out dessert, and sugary snacks are a thing of the past. Good!

But I'm eating less than usual. Thats the point of the diet in a way, because i was eating way more than i should be before. But sometimes i kinda feel hungry. I'm not sure if i'm truely hungry, if its just a craving or if im just getting used to not being stuffed full all the time. I dont give in to this feeling usually, unless my stomach actually grumbles in which case i feed it. Or i have something like a cup of tea or water, to see if its just dehydration calling.

Is this the right thing to do? Did you experience this? Could it be part of the sugar withdrawal? I dont want to be starving myself, but i dont want to feed myself extra stuff i dont need.

My advice to you is cut your meals in half and eat the other half about 2 - 3 hours after you have eaten. Bowl of cereal and an apple for breakfast? Save the apple for later! Sandwich and some carrots? Eat the carrots for a snack!

Not only will this keep you from getting hungry but it will also burn more calories because your metabolism will always be running.

I think it's normal...

I hate feeling "full", so I know what you're talking about. I think you just have to get used to the change in diet. It sounds like you're doing really good and that your body is adjusting to you only eating the the point where you're not hungry anymore, instead of eating until you feel stuffed.

I just drink water, or if it's really bugging me (like when i'm PMSing and my body swears it's starving every two seconds) i'll eat an apple with non-fat caramel dip, peanut butter, or nutella. Sometimes your body just wants carbs, and an easy snack like that fixes it.

thanks both of you. I'll try to spread my food out throughout the day to keep my metabolism kicking over, and hopefully i'll get used to it soon ^_^ Feeling full just feels unnatural now, and its becoming surprisingly easy to avoid it :o who would have thought it!

I try spreading my meals over the day and it helps a lot!
