The average for me day and and day out over the course of a month(s) is about 1700 a day to maintain. Obviously there are some 1000 days and some 2200 days thrown in there, but those are rare. I generally stick to 1550-1750 range most days, erring on the higher end usually.

Obviously, everyone's caloric needs are different as is evidenced here; but also obviously it depends on how much one works out. If I work out more than my baseline 90min a week (I am currently up to 4hrs a week) I can usually have 50-100 calories more a day without doing any damage.

I did Jenny Craig and they said 1200. To maintain my weight I have to eat 2000 calories a day, and to lose 2lbs a week (healthy is 1-2) I need to eat about 1200 a day... Im hungry!

I can get by without binging on 1200 cals a day (low-carb), but I try to eat between 1500-1600, also low-carb.

I started with aiming for 1200 but always ended up eating 1500. It was so hard for me to eat 1200. I just could not be satisfed on 1200. But now that i have been dieting for a few months 6months, I have stepped it up or I should say down to 1200. I eat slow burning foods to make them last longer.

In order to lose 1 pound a week by not excerising you have to eat 500 less calories a day than you burn. Then my excerise calories burned are a plus or I should say bigger negative.

It took time for me to get there. I could not just go from 3000 a day to 1200. You will get faint, dizy, your body wont' run well. I slowly took it down at a comfortable pace. Every week I kick things up a notch.

I try to aim for 1400-1600, currently I'm new and haven't started an exercise program yet, but at 1400 I don't go to bed hungry

When I'm on a diet and normally eat 1300 calories a day. After I got pregnant and had my baby I started to eat a lot more calories. I'm going back to eating the 1300 because I eat a lot healthier and actually feel more full.
