How about claiming to have eaten a very big lunch? Always works for me. "Oh no, I couldn't. I'm absolutely stuffed, I had a huge baked potato for lunch." Lies, all lies, but at least they don't think you're rude.

Or say that you have your tea waiting for you at home. If people are being unpleasantly persistent then you shouldn't feel bad for lying to them!

Hello I am an old new member, I was a member here a few times in the past year. I have the wonderful friend who shows up for work to visit me, when I see her drive up and walk in with a white bag I know I am in trouble, that bag means that she has been to the bakery on her way in, so I tell her that I have just eaten but will have some later and I usually give it to my co-worker after she leaves.
