Thumbs up Why Men Marry *****es

I bought the book by Sherry Argov called "Why Men Marry *****es" You know I feel stupid. It's not the book you think it is, but you know how sometimes you find someone you like and you get so comfortable with him you put up with crap you don't need to? It's not a book telling you to play games or be nasty to your man. This is a very interesting book and kinds reminds me not to lose who I am even when I'm dating someone. It's a great read and I recommend it! Everyonce in a while it's nice to have something remind you of your strengths. I really have felt really great about myself after reading through it. And it will definitely have you laughing too

Oh I thought it WAS what it sounds like! My DF's (former) best friend married one of "those"...

But it is SO important not to forget yourself in a new relationship. And yes, I have put up with the un-necessary crap, I think just because I wanted the relationship. I don't have to tell you how that ended!

I read that book too and I loved it. I tried to get a friend to read it who is overly accomidating to men and totally loses herself when in a relationship... but nope, she never even opened it. Oh well. It helped me to gain perspective on what I was doing wrong in the past... but I tell ya, when you use the techniques on men it's funny what happens. When you first start dating they say "wow I love how independant and strong minded you are" and then as the relationship progresses, they start to expect you to act like every other woman they have dated where they give up friends or activities etc. Then you are "stubborn" or "difficult" or if the guy is REALLY insecure like my last date, you secretly "want to or are seeing other people" Uh huh. Now I am LOL.

But yes I loved that book. It was GREAT.

Ladies I just finished it today. And yes, it is a way to learn from the past. I'm just as guilty as any other when it comes to being too sweet and too accomodating. My poor boyfriend is not going to know what is about to hit him!!! And, now I know how to get him to propose on top of it.

I love that book! Why Men Love *itches is also a great book.

The gist of the books is that you need to change the pattern and stay unpredictable to keep your man interested.

I'm learning that my husband wants me to be the driving force behind all of our decisions. It drove me absolutely nuts (ok, drives me absolutely nuts).

I mean, I don't want him to be "the boss," but I don't want to be the boss either (though "the boss" is one of his nicknames for me). Can't we cooperate, or at least alternate in the decision making process, and not just on the big things, but on the little things too?

I guess not, because he's happiest when I TELL him what we're going to be doing. Funniest thing is my mom is VERY bossy, and my dad very passive. I married my husband BECAUSE he seemed so assertive and confident. And he is, he just wants me to be more assertive and more confident than he is.

Oh well, I guess I need to practice my *****iness.
