June NSV

I thought I would start a June NSV thread. NSV stands for non scale victory because weight loss is so much more then the number on the scale.

I Have a couple to start the month off ...

1. I was trying on some of my sisters clothing, her tops have been starting to fit me. She asked me if I was still planning on getting surgery to remove the excess skin and breast implants, I said yes and grabbed all of the excess skin around my stomach and pulled it out. Well it was the first time she had really seen me do something like that. She then said that it looks so different, I thought she was referring to how the skin look gross and shrivled, no she said that she meant how thin I was without the excess skin. She hadn't realized that I have a small waist under all the loose skin.

2. I went to a parade on Friday with my SIL's Aunt and my nephew and when we got to my SIL house afterwards her aunt said as I walked out of the room, "look how thin she is". It always makes me smile when I get complements like that.

3. I wore a tight halter top to the parade and was not self concious about how I looked in it at all. I felt comfortable the entire time. Normally I'm uncomfortable in tight tops.

My hubby said to me "you are getting thin!" That felt amazing when he said that!!!! I just couldn't help but smile REALLY big!! That really just made my 30 pound loss so far totally worth it!! I am on cloud nine!! :)

I'm officially back to 2006 sizes, 14 in jeans, 16 pants, even though the scale doesn't reflect that (yet). And, I can see that I'm definitely losing in my face. Yay!

I have started to enjoy healthier versions of food I love cooked at home rather than eating out!

I actually managed to go out to a bar with my friends and not drink. I ordered a club soda with some lime slices, noone even knew, and I still had a great time.

I went to a brew festival downtown to watch my rowdy (but awesome) friends play.... I paid the $10 to have all the bbq hot dogs, potato salads, chips, guac I could handle, not to mention FREE BEER straight off the brewery's tap... and I stuck to my WATER! I stayed on plan all day and even walked to and from the brew pub. I had a blast.

I love to read each and every one of these. It really makes me feel good to see how wonderful everyone is doing.

My sister has always been the only one of us girls that was thin, I can't remember being under a size 16/ xl until now. I recently started fitting into her tops she is like a medium top 8 - 10 on bottom. She is pregenant which means she can't wear medium tops because her chest is growing. Well she gave me two trash bags of clothing, medium and small tops which fit or almost fit me, and several pairs of bottoms that are 8 that look like I'm hoping to fit into by the end of the summer, plus a few goal pairs of 6s.

rememberhowtosmile, that is awesome about bags of free new-to-you clothes!! I think I'm actually jealous. ;) That would make my day/month for sure.

My NSV for June is that I'm getting back the passion and motivation to stick to a healthy lifestyle (after a few weeks of losing my direction).
Looking for new and exciting ways to spruce up meals. And no giving in to hormone driven cravings! :D

It didn't help that the cups were clear so I could see the bubbly goodness on the inside. I just tried to focus on talking to everyone I could. I lucked out and ran into a few people I knew and conversed with some strangers, too (not to mention my friends). In essence, I just tried to keep busy. I need to remember that in the future as I have NEVER in my life passed up free microbrew while having such a good time regardless.
