Does anyone else have this problem? I'm an hourglass, but I have an extremely short waist and a really high rise. The space between my hip bone and floating rib is less than 1 inch! As a result I have a terrible time finding anything that fits, especially jeans. I feel like even buying "classic fit" that are supposed to sit right on the waist make me feel indecent since they are so low on me. What does anyone else do for this?

I don't really know anything to suggest other than you might try myshape.com, I haven't used it personally but I have heard its great for finding clothes that flatter your particular shape and size. I think you can enter in all your measurements and they'll help you find clothes that work for you. I hope that helps!

Try Gap's Essential Jean. I have much the same issue as you (though maybe not quite as badly) and those are the only jeans I wear!! They also come in a GREAT really dark wash. Since I only buy jeans in dark dark washes, these were PERFECT for me!

I am terribly short waisted also. I simply cant buy a jacket off the rack.

Anyhow the best jeans I ever found were the old navy ultra low rise. They were not nearly so low on me and I loved them.

Unfortunately I grew hips a few years ago and the ultra lows are very slim in the hips.
