Default Realistic Goal?

I want to set a mini-goal for myself. This is my first time really thinking about goal setting (aside from being able to wear cute butt jeans), so I want to make sure that I'm setting a realistic goal.

My best friend's 21st birthday is mid-august, I'd like to loose 20-25lbs by then. Is this too far fetched or is it duable? I'm currently about 250lbs, so that'd put me around 225lbs.

That's entirely realistic. When I first started losing weight, I lost about 15 pounds just in the first week by drinking a ton of water and eating a lot of veggies. Honestly, over a couple months, since you're young, I'd say you could probably set your goal higher. Maybe 30?

20 pounds would put you at 2 a week, which IS doable, but not guaranteed. You may have weeks where you lose 6 and some where you lose 1 or 0, even when you are 100% on plan. It really will be determined by how disciplined you are, how your body reacts and so on. Best of luck! Stick to it, either way, you will be better off.

so doable. I started my diet April 7 and have lost 16 pounds. I have been very good about not cheating and excellent about exercising every day though.
This is the first time in my life where I have lost this much weight on purpose, and I feel so satisfied. Good luck!

It is totally doable! I have a goal of being under 200 so that's 28 lbs by the end of August (My 23rd B-day). We can do it girl!

Mid-August would give you about 3 months..so about 12 weeks? That would be aboue 1.67 - 2.08 lb per week which I think is doable. They say losing 1.5-2lb/week is healthy for you. So that sounds like a good goal. Just remember that the weight can go up and down, or even not change at all. Don't let the down or no change upset you. Just keep going and if you lose 20-25 by then, great. And if you don't, at least you will have lost some and you are on the way to lose more! =)
