I really enjoyed Stardust by Neil Gaiman. The Things they Carried by Tim O'Brien is also really good.

i will second Clive Cussler (Sahara as it is my favorite as well but any of them are good) and the Harry Poter series. i also enjoy Tom Clancy and Jonathan Kellerman.

I'm currently in LOVE with Mary Higgins Clark books! They're more of a suspense book, and really good! I've never read suspense/thriller/mystery type of books before hers. I definitely recommend. =] Enjoy!!

Well, some of you probably knew this was coming--but I would DEFINITELY suggest the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. I've been hooked for about a year now--never have I been able to read through a series so quickly. They are so deliciously addicting. I'm reading through them a second time now (I'd have read them more if I wasn't on such a busy schedule! x-X)

Griff, The Things They Carried is one of my all-time favorite books.

For light reading (my favorite kind), I recommend the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison. They're intended for like 12 year olds I think, but I LOVE them. They're super funny. You can read one in a couple hours, and I've read them all like 8 times.

I'm currently reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson (I've seriously been reading this book for like 6 months because I never have time to read for pleasure at school). It's great if you're a science nerd like me. :)

I wonder if getting so many recommendations becomes kind of counterproductive....well, who cares, i needed to weigh in!

I've been looking for new authors to love, because I've gotten a little burned out on my faves: John Irving (esp The World According to Garp) is AWESOME. I used to have love for Tom Robbins, too, but kind of got over it...and I just read Nature Girl by Carl Hiaasen and it was pretty good. These are all kind of kooky books that are humorous in a dark-ish kind of way. Oh, and Jonathan Safran Foer, that's another good one...

I'm a little late...but here is my list. I mostly read fluffy chick lit because they are fun and take me away.

Something Borrowed & Something Blue - Emily Giffin
Bitter is the New Black - Jen Lancaster - Hilarious!!
Queen of the Babble- Meg Cabot
Every Boy's got one - Meg Cabot
Shopaholic series - Sophie Kinsella
The B***h Posse - Martha O'Connor - not chick lit - kind of dark about teens but really good!
Little Lady Agency & Little Lady Big Apple - Hester Browne
Jemima J - Jane Greene - Really good about an ugly duckling loosing weight
Everyone Worth Knowing - Laura Weisberger

Those are all the ones I really like that I have read these past few months. I really like Emily Giffin and think she might be my fav! Let us know what you decided to get and if it is good!
