I was actually going to make a post about this today!

I had to go to a wedding on Saturday so I was looking for a new shirt to wear.

I went by Old Navy thinking they're reasonably priced and they do carry XL and XXL. I was so mad because even though the XLs fit I felt like after it had been washed and dried it just wouldn't fit comfortably. The XXLs were too big in the boobs so I didn't want to wear those either.

I stopped buying pants at Old Navy years ago because to me the sizing is absurd. None of it fits my body well, at all, although in their defense sometimes I have a hard time finding pants even at Lane Bryant because the waist will fit (I do have very very curvy hips) but the thighs are kind of tight due to my "hippo thighs."

Lane Bryant seems to fit well (shirts at least), but because I wear the smaller sizes there (14/16) sometimes they don't have them in stock. I finally found a really cute, dressy, halter top that I liked, but the first store I went to didn't have any in stock so I had to call another store and go by 5 hours before the wedding to pick it up.

On the other hand, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the current style. Call me out of fashion if you will, but to me everything looks like maternity wear or mumus. Not to mention, it looks like my cat ate a box of my crayons and threw up on a shirt. Some of the stuff is really cute, but can't really be pulled off unless you're stick thin.

I just wish all stores were UNIFORMED as far as size. Every store, every brand, every where. It'd make life a lot simpler.

I have to try on a few sizes no matter what store I am at. I may fit into a size 16 in one of the pants and a size 18 in another. I have found that sizing differs even in the same store sometimes. It makes for a long shopping trip sometimes.
