let's see, yeah the weather has been crappy up here too, not quite as yucky as detroit's, but cloudy and windy.

i've been under some crazy terrible stress lately. i have exams and some awful personal problems. i am now in love with xanax. haha.

but i've been working out, trying not to eat so much and now i'm down to 230. but i still feel like a beached whale.

all in all i would say that april 2008 has been the worst month of my life.
thank god it's almost over.

scorpio88 04-30-2008 10:17 AM

I'm sorry April hasn't been good for you, deathnotronic. April has a history of bad for me (specifically April 24th, that day is CURSED..deaths and bad accidents). Just remember it'll pass and you're a stronger person for getting through all of it.

As for weather, I'm right across from Detroit, so we're getting their weather. Yuck, we are supposed to get snow flurries soon! How crazy eh?

CookieMonster416 04-30-2008 12:10 PM

Hey all! So my boyfriend just called and since he will be out of town mother's day weekend (and his parents are divorced) we are now doing breakfast with his mom, lunch with his dad and dinner with our friends on Saturday. Can you say all day eating fest? Jeeze! I hate having to go to 3 restaurants all in the same day...

Taylor86 04-30-2008 02:02 PM

This is just a short update - I am in between classes -

This week has been hard for me. I fell off for awhile but now I am back and gonna keep on going.

Even though I have fallen off my plan this week my brothers wedding is on saturday I am going to enjoy the food and company. I have a feeling I will burn a lot because of all the running around and dancing I am gonna be doing but this is my brothers wedding I am gonna have a good time - wake up on sunday and continue on my journey! - Plus I am in heels all day and that's gonna burn some sort of calories.

This is a special day and I am going to treat it as such. I will have only failed if I don't wake up the next day and get right back doin' what I was doin'!

Shopaholic1204 04-30-2008 03:28 PM

OKay..I'm having trouble staying awake..I dunno what my problem is. I wonder if that TOM is coming up soon. Or it could be that I stay up late reading and wake up when dh's alarm goes off at 6am, lol. Anyways...my eating has been okay so far. I just need to get enough energy to workout. Tomorrow is gonna be a bad day all around. I dont even wanna think about it..

deathnotronic~Sorry April is such a bad month for you. May is the worst month for me.

Cookiemonster~I know how you feel. Just eat small portions of everything.

Okay..going back to my grocery list.

I feel like everyone is starting their own convo rather than just adding to the weekly chat, which makes it impossible to keep up with everyone. Anyone else feel that way?

PS Vitatops are the best invention ever!!! They are so yummy and filling. Makes me want to never buy a 100 calorie hostess pack again (they are so freaking tiny)

CookieMonster416 05-01-2008 11:13 AM

AHHH HELP!!! I was just asked to join some people for sushi. Is chicken teriyaki a bad choice? I don't eat sushi (as in I don't eat seaweed, raw fish, cooked fish etc). How many calories would you predict a chicken teriyaki is? Clearly I am a calorie counter.

artsnsmarts 05-01-2008 10:42 PM

Teriyaki is probably one of the best things you could get if you're not getting sushi and don't eat seafood. It'll be more cals than if you made it at home, but WAY less than if you got tempura or something. I can't give you a #, really, because I don't count calories, but I think it's a safe bet!!

(I don't eat sushi/seafood either....BLECH!)

Ahhh my daughter is 30 pound. She shows BIG interest when I work out with DVD. She sometimes does stretches with me too.. Maybe I will get her to "help" me. It's so funny.. sometimes she wakes up from her nap, and I'm resting after my work-out sessions, and she comes up to me with my weight and tells me to go "exocise, mamma, exocise with dvdv" (She calls dvd dvdv.)

LOL

So it's a new month and I thought I would set some goals for myself, because I seem to work better with lots of small goals than one big one.

MAy 26 (Memorial Day): Lose 5 lbs. (3 weeks away)

June 28 (By best friend's wedding I'm the maid of honor) : Lose 6 more lbs. (about 5 weeks from memorial day)

July 26 (counsin's wedding and bridesmaid in it): Lose 5 more lbs. ( 4 weeks aways from last wedding)

August 17 (Vacation to Myrtle Beach): Lose 4 more lbs. (3 weeks away from wedding)

Total Summer Weight Loss Goal: 20 lbs.

Good morning all!

Lissa -- have fun at the gym!! I don't know what I would do without a membership -- I have been a steady gym girl since 1998!

Cookie -- holy moly, girl, I gotta come hang out with you! All these eating excursions! While overwhelming for the diet, it sounds like fun. Good luck navigating three different menus...
As for the weekly chat, I think it just happens sometimes that folks are unable to respond to other folks, and just pop in quickly to check in.

Deathno -- well, april's done, now, so I hope that makes things better! Um, careful with that xanax, girl, them brain drugs are some serious stuff!!

Francie -- yep lack of sleep could be the problem!

Taylor -- You are doing great just by continuing to post. At least, that's what I find. If I am still posting, then I am still being mindful in some way. Enjoy the wedding!!

Tara -- your daughter sounds adorable!

Sassy -- good luck with the mini goals! Let us know how it goes!

So, I have a concern. I just got a job at a Girl Scout camp (I'm so excited to go to camp over the summer)! But, Internet access will be limited, and I'm nervous to be without 3FC for 2 months!! Any suggestions?

S

CookieMonster416 05-02-2008 11:37 AM

So I have been trying to "expand my horizons" and cook/bake more. I made these Oatmeal white chocolate chip dried strawberry cookies last night and they were delicious!!! I got the recipe from my new Cooking Light recipe book and each cookie is 98 calories. I am becoming so domestic :)

Feral 05-02-2008 01:10 PM

Lizzy - this may sound weird, but if you can, find time to write in a journal. Kind of like a diet journal but it can include that and exercies that you've done, etc. When the summer is over you can recap all of the cool stuff you participated in while you were away and we'll be really excited to hear it!!!!

:)

Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL Friday. It's a teacher work day at school so there's no administration or KIDS here! YAYYYY!!!!!

I was bad last night. I had sushi AND BEER (like 4 beers to be exact) :(. Anyone have any suggestions for a good beer that won't pack on too many carbs, calories, etc that I could get away with drinking? Or should I just stick with liquor (no mixer)?

lissa9501 05-02-2008 02:44 PM

i've started to try and drink more water i keep 3-4 20oz bottles next to my comp and reverting back to eating more salads and veggies (my dh and i prefer our veggies not come from cans unlike the ils)
day one was the worst the lack of caffiene mades me nuts and i had a meltdown but it might have been pms and TOM more than the lack of the usual caffiene
tomorrow dh and i are taking the kids to a family day at his job (he already bought our food for it and made sure he got me a chicken plate not bbq) however i dont know how i'm gonna manage both kids while he's doing the activities his ppl want him to do.

Feral 05-02-2008 03:08 PM

Lissa -- remember to breathe and stay in the moment. Take things one step at a time and I'm sure everything will be okay. :) Good looking out on the chicken plate vs. bbq.
