Default Weight?

I have a question...

Well, kinda silly one.

Do any of you weigh more than once? I mean.. for example, I weighed on my weigh-in day and say it was 199.4, and then right after that, it shows 200.2, then the third time is 199.6. Has something like this ever happened to you? Should I get a new scale? If this does happen, which weight should I use as "official" weight for the week?

lol! I definitely used to ALL the time. All thoughout the day and it would flucuate like a crazy person! However the only number I count is the one when I get out of bed, in the buff and after i've been to the toilet.

These days I weigh maybe once every few days because frequently jumping on the scale was hurting my head.

I am addicted to weighing. I use the first one after going to the bathroom in the morning without clothes. Maybe you need to change batteries in your scale?

I used to weigh myself all throughout the day, but it became pretty depressing when I would see such huge fluctuations. I eventually stopped doing that, and now I weigh myself every 3-4 days and see a constant loss.

I had a cheap-o digital scale and if I stepped on in three times in thirty seconds I'd get weight fluctuations of up to a half pound. I Freecycled it and went back to my analog scale. It's not quite as precise but I can see when I've gone down a pound. I try not to weigh myself more often than every 4 days and I go with that weight (and I cut myself some slack every 29 days because I know I'm retaining lots of water!).

My scale did that (or so I thought) but then I was told that you're supposed to tap it with you're toe...wait until you see 0.0 show up and then step on it. Now, the readings are exactly the same every time.

I dunno if other digital scales would be the same...but maybe worth a shot if you weren't already doing that?

Yup, that's what I did. lol. Oh well, I guess I will just have to forget about what happened and just will go with the weekly weight I got. That's what I happens when one starts getting obsessed with the number, hehe...

Oh I know the feeling...I'm on the search for a good scale that's cheap (under 30 bucks) because that's about how much I have left in my bank account (stupid college ).

The digital scale I have now only goes by whole numbers, and let me tell you, I step on the scale, it'll say 140. Step on it again, I'm suddenly 125. Again, 150. That's when you know you need a new scale. I think my scale goes through more mood swings then I do!

my biggest thing to stick to is ONLY WEIGH ONCE A WEEK!! I'm in Weight Watchers, so I weigh myself every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am. Same time, same day, same scale, etc. That way I KNOW there's no crazy fluctuation. Idk if you're on a program like that, but I've heard that some people throw their home scales away!! (I don't even use mine anymore. I hid it in the closet because I found it was like 2 pounds different from the one at WW). Just don't become obsessive. you will weigh differently throughout the day, and a lot of times sodium, water weight, or TOM affects your weight!!!

I weigh daily in the AM straight after I get up and have been to the bathroom. I weigh three times; and take the highest weight. Scales work and batteries have been replaced but diff weights can simply be given between attempt one/two/three so taking the highest reassures me

When I take my scale out I always weigh myself three times and take the middle number as my weight. It sometimes only differs by .2 lbs, but sometimes it can be as much as 1 lb.

I only weight myself once a month. It's so hard for me to weigh anymore than that.

My thing is I focused a lot on weight training I am very strong (My leg press is currently 200 pounds and I have only seen my trainer for a month) so I would only loose .5 pounds a week but went down 2 sized in 3 weeks - because I gain in muscle.

Everyone is different - but if I were you I would choose one day week at the same time and go with that.
