I've been on the prescription version for 9 months now and I can honestly say that I've NEVER had uncontrolled BMs. I've had some extra gas and bloating sometimes but prior to the change in my diet I suffered IBS and I can tell you the symptoms from that were far worse that anything I've experienced taking Xenical.

What I think Xenical has done for me is to allow my weightloss to be quicker than it has ever been before. I've lost 55lb in those 9 months (and 23lb before I started taking it). In those 9 months I had two vactions and Christmas and have never see a gain at my weekly weigh-in. In the past I've never managed to get through such occasions without gains.

My intention is to take it until my BMI falls below 30.

I never used it but my cousin used the xclinical version and it worked well for her. She lost weight by watching what she was eating and using the pill she wasnt trying to lose a whole lot of weight but she lost about 20lbs

A lady that works in the same building as me used alli and says she lost 40lbs with it. However she was also like you and followed a diet plan. MOst people that I have heard who have taken it did have oily stools and things like that when they ate something fatty! I on the other hand have no desire to take pills because I just hate taking pills...lol In life what works for one doesnt always work for others. I would just say to research and dont over do it other than that good luck in whatever you decide!

I considered taking it but I am below the weight cut off. I wish I had some more information for ya, but like others have said I know people that have taken it with no problems and a friend who definitely paid for eating a fatty meal! I hope it ends up working out for you!

I was going to try it this summer, but I'm too nervous about it. My friend did use it though. She lost about 10 pounds and she had no side effects. Theres a diet plan that you follow..and theres even a cookbook!! If you follow the plan, then you shouldnt have any side effects.

I use it for the behavioral modification aspects. I typically eat a fairly low fat diet anyway, but the Alli really keeps me from cheating. I've only experienced the oily-ick side effects once (friends wanted to go out for chicken wings and I believe I had about... let's say... 15 too many!?!?! Oooops!).

I like it for keeping me in check. No way am I going eat fries or something cruddy like that when on it, or even binge on a second Lean Cuisine for dinner, because I know it's not going to be fun.

As for making me lose more weight because of blocking the fat, it may, but I am definitely in it for the psychological aspects, to reestablish good patterns, etc.

Well, I'm from Canada so I don't know how much more expensive it is up here for us than it would be for you. The xenical worked out to I believe $2/pill and I was taking 3 a day. It was expensive, but I had I seem results I would've stuck with it. It just wasn't working for me. I remember cringing every time I went to buy a refill (I only got one month supplies at a time because I was nervous about the side effects and wanted to start slow).

And no, nothing was covered by my health plan. (I'm still on my parents plan and it covers practically everything...except this. Haha. Naturally.) That being said, my BMI was below 30 when I started taking it so I'm curious as to whether if your BMI was above 30 you would receive some coverage...

If you have any more questions let me know! I was on it for three months so I got a pretty good handle on how things worked :)
