Arrow YOUR Favorite Alcoholic Drink

Ok, speaking about alcohol and coming off of a pre- St. Patty's day weekend....... let's talk more booze!!!

Like I said in another post--- I have only recently been going to bars and doing social drinking.
(And we all know that those drinks can add up and be calorific nightmares, but that is not the point, really, of this thread).

The question here is: What is your favorite alcoholic drink?? And if you can share the calorie amount (if you know) that would be even better!

I am trying not to sound like such a naive little girl at bars and I am trying to find my own favorite/comfortable drink to order so I would like to know what you chicas drink. Inquiring minds (or at least one) want to know!!!

I'm a wine drinker - 4oz of wine (one glass) is generally 80-100 cals. White wine is on the lighter side, but the occasional red is good for your heart!

Ooh I love anything pretty much
At the moment I've been drinking vodka lemonade with lime. It's really nice (the lemonade doesn't make it very calorie-friendly though!)
I also love this cocktail called Woo Woo. It's vodka, peach schnapps with cranberry juice and lemonade to add a bit of fizz.
However, when I'm being good on a night out and thinking about my calories I have double vodka diet cokes-boring but not as many calories as some drinks!

If it were calorie free, I'm a sucker for White Russians, Baily's on the rocks, Mudslides, and other similar "dessert" drinks. When I worked at a bar, I used to suck back the white russians or another fav - nuts and berries (Bailey's, Frangelica - hazelnut liqueur, Amaretto, Chambord, and milk). OMG... they are sooooo yummy. I was in my early twenties then and could afford the extra calories, but not now. I have a white russian now and then for a special treat, but I don't drink much at all anymore. When I do, I'm a wine drinker. As you said, most of these are a caloric nightmare - good thing I'm not much of a drinker anymore! Oh, in the summer, I LOVE margaritas and gin and tonics - both are must have for the week at the beach :-)

My favorite drink at home is coconut rum (Bacardi) and Coke Zero. I know 1.5 oz. is 100 calories, and I drink at least 3 or 4 of them. I'll drink Stoli vanilla vodka with Coke Zero too. It's about the same or a little less. But when I'm out, I'll drink a chocolate martini, and I'm ususally DD and never get tipsy in public anyway, so I don't drink anything else. Yikes! I just looked up the calories and it's 400!! Maybe I should have a glass of champagne intead. No wonder everyone says to avoid those mixers! I'm glad I like hard liquor!

Mixed: Malibu and diet

Darn it, Charlotte. Now I want a drink! And the stores close early on Sunday in Kansas! Maybe it's time to take a drive over the state line . . .

Wine is my favorite, and I love a good shiraz!

Beer I'm kind of wimpy about and usually just go with Corona Light with lime

As for mixed drinks, almost anything tastes good, but my favorite has to be a whiskey sour. Man, I love those things. I think I just like citrus/sour in general -- if I'm going to have a martini it's going to be Lemon Drop, or if I'm having a margarita it'll be a lime one!

wine all the way. i used to be a huge beer drinker but suddenly lost my taste for it -- switched to wine and dropped 5 lbs without even trying (that has NEVER happened before or again).
also, if i'm feeling like a stiffer drink than wine, then vodka tonic with a splash of cranberry. yum.

I'd have to say a Sunkist. (Not sure if thats how you spell it). But it's vodka, redbull and orange schnapps. Have no idea about the calories, but its probably not good. Good thing I don't go our anymore! haha

I'm very naive when it comes to alcohol, but I've had this thing called a Sugar Daddy that involves Baily's and Buttershots, and I prefer it room tempurature. (I dislike cold alcoholic beverages... I like warm, sweet, creamy drinks.) Let's just say that I'd very occasionally pour equal parts into a large red plastic cup and sip on it all night while watching Adult Swim.

I can't drink beer anymore because it hurts my stomach so I try and avoid that. So now I'll drink wine if I'm in that mood or with a meal. If I'm just going out drinking then I stick with the hard stuff. Normally I will try and get a diet mixer so if I'm at home I will buy diet tonic, sprit, or coke. If I'm at the bar I will do things like diet coke and rum or wiskey, or if I am drinking heavy then normally I will get a long island with diet coke instead of regular coke.

Walking2lose - OMG, I second the Nuts & Berries - I had my first one years ago at a professional conference. Yummy!

But...I'd have to say if I'm ordering a drink with dinner (which may happen 2-3 times a year now) it's the opportunity to spend time with my friend Tom Collins :-) In my earlier twenties I was helped into many an escapade with the help of a Pat O'Brien's Hurricane....ah, the days....

Okay, so I don't really know the caloric amount in anything alcoholic off the top of my head. I used to go out and drink a lot, and now I have held back to once or twice a month.

Vodka cranberries are good, sex on the beaches are REALLY good

If I am going to drink beer, I prefer to drink beer with more alcoholic content. This way you can get the same buzz off of one beer that you would get off of 3 normal beers.
IE: 1 eye of the hawk beer=3 bud lights
-at least for me, I can drink 3 eye of the hawks and be drunk, where I would have to drink around 8 or 9 bud lights

-There is also this beer called Arrogant *******, which you can get a 22 oz. of in a liquor store and be buzzed. Drunk if you're a lightweight =)
