Ugh...Keep Gaining!!

  • I have been trying to get in better shape for awhile now, got more focused on it towards the end of this past summer, but now I can't seem to stop gaining weight. Admittedly, I don't always have the best eating habits...usually I am within a decent calorie range (1200-1600) just not always the right foods which is something I have been trying to work on. But my eating has not gotten any worse lately that it was previously, and I've actually been more on point with exercise and but I've been continuously gaining weight. I've gained about 10 lbs over the past 3-4 months and I don't know why!!! Its so frustrating, I don't know what to do!!!
  • Maybe eating better would help. Also, how much are you exercising?? Your body might just need MORE calories/fuel to get through those sessions.
Most importantly-- Don't freak out!! If you are eating healthily and exercising regularly then you are right on track. I mean, what else can a body do?
  • Yeah I am trying to get on track eating wise. I don't do too horribly, my meals aren't too bad, but sometimes I do have trouble avoiding the snacks. But still I am doing better than I used to. Workout wise I usually do about 30 min of cardio- (elliptical/treadmill) at the gym about 3-4 times a week along with some light weight lifting, and at home try to work in a 30-60 min Taebo workout about 3-4 times a week.
  • The only thing I can think of is that if you're eating not-so-good-for-you food than you might be eating more calories than you think you are. Have you been recording what you eat?

Also chica could be right and you aren't eating enough calories for the amount of exercise you're doing.

Definitely start eating better food for the amount of calories you are eating.
  • Would you mind posting your menu here? Maybe you'll be able to get a few suggestions about what you're eating.
