What plan are you on?

Hello everyone!

I'm just curious what plan everyone is on. I'm currently doing the Sonoma lifestyle but I also love to drink my nightly glass of wine. So I've decided to stick with the Sonoma food choices and also count calories so I can still work in a glass of wine or 2 at dinner.

Hi.

Im in the UK and following Slimming World.

HappyMomma05 01-06-2008 01:45 PM

I'm also on the Sonoma Diet. I'm starting wave 1 again tomorrow. You do realize that once you reach wave 2 you are encouraged to drink 1 glass of wine with dinner. It's only the first 10 days that you can't.

camdam1016 01-06-2008 02:06 PM

Yes I know. I just really miss my glass of wine with dinner. I'm truely a wine fanatic....even my kitchen is lovingly decorated in wine glasses. :D

So I made it 3 days before I poured just a little sip of a lovely red Merlot just so I could taste it. I ended up having 2 glasses. :o

Anyhow, I'm hoping if I cut my calories enough during the day then I can still have my nightly glass of wine (or two!). My diet and meal plans will still follow Sonoma.

I don't mind my diet being restricted and I love eating healthy. I just don't like not being able to enjoy my wine. I probably sound like a wino...sorry about that! Its more like a dessert for me!

sgregg 01-06-2008 02:10 PM

I am counting calories.

HappyMomma05 01-06-2008 02:16 PM

camdam: I totally agree. I think the only way I made it the whole 10 days without wine was because I didn't have the money to buy it. LOL Are you a member of The Sonoma Diet online? I joined but I don't know how helpful it's going to be.

misschris531 01-06-2008 02:23 PM

I'm counting calories, and walking for exercise. :)

camdam1016 01-06-2008 02:50 PM

:dz:I did try the Sonoma online and it was ok. I thought it was a little pricey for what you get though. I also have the book and between this website and the book, I really didn't see the need in spending the money for the online stuff.

What really did me in for that site was probably my own fault. I was logging in nightly when I was cooking dinner. I would just set my laptop on the counter and get to cookin'. One night I couldn't log in so I had to call customer service so they could email me my recipe for dinner. :chef: Umm..yeah! About an hour later I finally got my recipe. Another 2 hours later, dinner was finally ready and my hubby had given up on me and went to bed. :(

I curious for those of you who count calories...do you use fitday.com or another website to count calories?

sgregg 01-06-2008 03:03 PM

I use thedailyplate.com

suitejudyblueeyes 01-06-2008 03:34 PM

I just re-started weight watchers.... i really do love the plan.

misschris531 01-06-2008 04:47 PM

I use FitDay to track cals... I try to track my exercise there as well, although I find it difficult to remember to do it there, here, and on my ticker.

eastcoastgirl 01-06-2008 05:03 PM

Hey Camdam: I count calories and generally try to eat 5-6 small meals per day, spaced evenly. Splitting up my calories into 6 equal portions means that I basically have a list of things I know are my target amount (about 250-300c) and then if I don't feel like having what I planned, I swap it out for something else that I know is the same amount.

PurdueGal 01-06-2008 05:40 PM

I am counting calories as well. But I also eat mostly whole foods and try to eat organic as much as possible. I cook a LOT and don't eat many processed foods. I read Super Foods Rx and YOU: On a Diet and really take a lot from both those books, although I don't follow any specific plan.

jbar 01-06-2008 05:45 PM

I am not on any plan. I have lost weight with weight watchers so I know that it works and is a healthy plan.

ILoveLove 01-06-2008 07:54 PM

I am following the same plan as purduegal - its hard to follow a strictly non-processed foods and whole foods diet in college.. but I do a pretty good job with it. I just try to stay away from the packaged foods except for brands like Kashi and I'm big on ingredients.. no HFCS obviously which pretty much cuts out 75% of food in America (I just made up that statistic haha but thats what it feels like) and if I do have something with sugar it has to be a natural sugar. No splenda or sugar substitutes here.

akapjthegreat 01-06-2008 08:05 PM

I've taken pieces of Adkins, South Beach, and my RE's suggestions to create PJ's PCOS diet :)

velsmore 01-07-2008 12:42 AM

I am on Optifast. I drink these shakes 5 times a day for a total of 800 calories a day. I am losing weight very quickly but I am worried about eating realy food again.

sxulcmnky 01-07-2008 07:43 AM

<--- calorie counter

mrsgeb2 01-07-2008 09:43 AM

my own verison of SBD...

lovinlifex2 01-07-2008 01:02 PM

I am a calorie counter as well.

I was never a very good plan follower and I like the idea that nothing is off limits as long as I fit it into my daily calorie allotment.

I have been walking on my treadmill for the last few months, but have recently gotten bored with that so I bought The Biggest Loser DVD and started it this morning.

Amberelise 01-07-2008 01:14 PM

I'm a calorie counter using Fitday. I also work out at the gym M-F.

ILoveLove 01-07-2008 01:53 PM

velsmore - is 800 all you are getting in a whole day?

If it is you might have a hard time keeping the weight off when it comes time to eat a regular amount of food.

SavingServo 01-07-2008 01:58 PM

I'm just started to calorie cycle. But I've been a calorie counter for a while.

MISS 1982 01-07-2008 02:20 PM

How is that going for you? I lost on a primarily raw diet. I do eat cooked now (but still mostly raw), especially during the winter but I gravitate towards raw eating in general, at least during the warmer months. It worked out pretty well!

practiceliving 01-07-2008 03:46 PM

I'm following the Best Life Diet! Phase 1 hasn't seen much loss for me, but has helped me form some better habits and start working on a lot of what's going on mentally relating to my weight. I'm starting Phase 2 on Jan 13th, so we'll see how it goes!

mamaplots 01-08-2008 03:40 AM

I am on the Weight Watchers plan because it really seems to work for me, there is nothing that is restricted! You can eat what you want, you just have to portion out your points responsibly.

velsmore 01-09-2008 12:34 AM

That is 100% true, I am going to slowly add calories while I increase my exercise... hopefully that works *fingers crossed*

stacylambert 01-09-2008 01:30 AM

I am in general a calorie counter. Right now I am using ***********.com (hope I can say that here since it has a forum and everything). It counts the calories for me and I get to pick from the meals so it's all stuff I like.
