Remember when someone talked about our "stuck" weight a month or two ago?
Yeah, I was right. I CANNOT get past 145. I'm just STUCK here. It's 145 or 145.5 and has been for almost a month. I am SO frustrated. I've tried eating more. I've been going to the gym every night after work. Why can't I lose a stinking pound?! |
Good Morning Ladies!!!
Thank you for all the congrats! Yesterday was a wonderful day!! Eating was right on plan! The day ending pretty good. We are now one day closer to Christmas break!! I can't wait to stay up late and sleep-in! I may have to work on Christmas but it's okay it's double time plus I got a raise last week so things are looking up. I've only got a few more presents to buy and I plan to pick those up today after work. vicque - congrats on the 20lbs, that's the first big milestone... sonja - parties are always the hardest... lissa - oooo...i wish i could find someone to teach me how to knit...i love making things... amber - i've been there...i think we all have...it will pass give it time...hang in there... I hope all you ladies have a wonderful Wednesday, the week is half-way over!! |
Good morning you wonderful 20-Somethings!!!
lottie That's so good. Enjoy those who love you and being around them for the holidays. That's why I go home, my family and close close friends are there, and they're who love me the most and who I love the most. I miss my friends there (they're most like my sisters...) vixjean haha. Wrapping presents can totally be a drag. I cheat; my family has these reusable Christmas bags, i usually just stuff my presents in those and voila! It's done. ;) slisette You start talking about your kitty and I just get so happy. Kittens are adorable (true annoying at times...). Pizza is an awesome hang over remedy by the way. Jeese, I haven't been drunk is so long... totally depressing. heehee. lissa Ooohh knitting. Fun! I've tried on and off for years to start knitting... can't seem to do it steadily though. I know the feeling about wanting to get to a certain place on a project before bed time hits though. thank god I'm pretty much done all my projects now. :D CHRISTMAS IS LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY!!!!!! YAY!!! haha. I'm a little excited. Today is the first of the last exams. *happy dance* soon I'll be done and on a plane heading home. Sigh. I want it to come faster! All this waiting around has made me so.... frustrated. Anyway I'm just taking my time getting to that last minute studying I have to do today. I was hoping to get out for some exercise, but I don't think that's gonna happen... it's pretty much a torrential down pour with crazy crazy winds out there.... |

Because I'm still procrastinating, I'm gonna post some pics of the projects I've been telling you guys about.
I made : 2 rice heat therapy bags. Basically those magic bags you put in the microwave. 2 flax seed cold therapy bags. Same as above but smaller and for headaches and stuff. 1 quilt. The little details aren't quite finished, it's for my parents. A map of the world. All the edges and stuff become fluffy and stuff after a good washing... 1 purse. I love this! It was an awesome online pattern that I followed. I hope my friend loves it, because if she doesn't I'm taking it back. :p And oven mitts for my roomie. |
Wow, everything looks awesome, CT -- I bet your friends and family will love everything you made!! And I love that poster you have on your door of the kitty...
I keep planning on knitting an afghan and I bought the yarn for it and everything... but it hasn't happened yet. Best I can do is make scarves for people :) It's my experience that people tend to love things that others have made for them... feels more personal! |
its weird my mom tried to teach me to knit when i was 13 or 14, she couldnt teach me at all, she couldnt teach me cause i was left handed versus her being right handed. so i taught myself in a matter of weeks i guess, i knew 1 stitch pattern, and how to change colors by 14 but nothing else for ummmmm 10 years. i kept trying to knit on and off for years i've passed the 14th year of doing it and i find i'm getting better and have braved past a scarf(i made a shawl, scarf, hats, gloves, and a bag most done within a year after my daughter was born, during that pregnancy i was swollen everywhere and my hands hurt to bend a little. with my son i was constantly knitting even if i didnt finish anything)
cat-if you want some links for knitting sites i can try to pass them onto you if you're interested |
Lottie – glad you have been able to make the holidays work for you. This time of year can be so rough if you don’t have family, it’s great to be able to choose a new family.
Lissa – I knit, too, and I can get so compulsive about it, too. :dizzy: Just one more row, just one more row!! Amber – I got stuck at that same weight when I was on South Beach, so I gave up on the Beach and for a long time, I didn’t gain it back even though I was eating JUNK. Now I’m counting calories and I’m creeping downwards again, but I really hope I can get past that old plateau! I’m sure you’ve heard all the advice about how plateaus will break eventually, change things up, especially your exercise routine. And be patient!! Good luck!! :cheer: Jana – it’s so funny, I don’t know you at all, but I get this feeling from your posts that you are such an upbeat and positive person. You’re doing great and I love seeing your posts!! And congrats on a raise!! :cp: What do you do? Cat – good luck with those exams!! :book2: And SO GOOD that you haven’t been drunk in a while. Silly stuff. Wow your sewing looks beautiful!! I just finished reading a book called Patchwork Planet, the title was based on an Earth quilt. Funny. Not such a great book though, I wouldn’t recommend it. SuiteJudy – ooh an afghan. I’m a scarf knitter, too. I made a sweater once and learned that I should keep it simple. :p As for me, I finally got my booty to the gym today. I'm planning to go back tomorrow, too. Can I just say that I'm watching the most nauseating show right now (it crept on after Project Runway) about this ridiculous matchmaker called the Millionaires Club where she only accepts rich rich men gets these goldigger women to be the types of wives that the men say they want and then matches them up. Ew. This stuff makes me so mad at the world! :tantrum: Where is that dam remote?? Hasta manana ladies. Sonja |
Good Morning Ladies!!!
WOW...I must really be behind...everyone knows how to knit...I've have got to catch-up... Yesterday was a great day! A friend of mine came over and we watched TV and went for a little joy ride. He is the sweetest guy ever and we have been friends since grade school. I really like when he comes over because he is a guy that I actually like and I don't have to worry about him trying inapp. things. He is one of the very rare respectable guys I know. Eating was a little off yesterday but no fret. I'm back in the swing today. I really need to find that special workout routine that I love to do so I can stick to it. I love walking but I don't have anyone to walk with at the times that are most convenient for me. I'm not scared to go up the street to a park that has a great walking trail by myself in the morning or at night, I'm just not in the mood to get murdered or raped. cat...suite...lissa - you guys are awesome...please somebody tell what to buy and where to buy whatever i need to teach myself to knit...is it hard to do...i have arthiritis in my hands so will that affect my knitting... sonja - thanks girlie...i usually try to be the person to make everyone smile...even when the chips are down...i work part-time as a 'collect call operator' at a company that sits on the same corner as my office... It's Thursday ladies...after today the week is pretty much over! Good Luck to everyone that is taking exams, may you all get a good old fashioned A+. Has anyone talked to Remember..she has not posted all week...i hope she doing all right... |
First off, Cat, that purse is AWESOME. I would LOVE it. Your friend is lucky.
Otherwise, I've been to the gym 3 days in a row. Yay! But, I went out to eat dinner yesterday and I ordered the works. I had 2 lobster dim sum, butterfish with risotto and pineapple upside down cake. Luckily I had eaten well all day long prior to dinner and I did make it to the gym. I know that last night is not going to help me in the way of getting past my plateau, but I think it was worth it. We're tightening our budget to save for a downpayment on our condo so it was my last dinner out for many months to come. Now I just have to make it through three more problem meals and I'm home free: (1) Friday night - celebrating my future MIL's birthday. (2) Christmas Eve - dinner at the future in-law's. (3) Christmas Day - dinner at my sister's. This will be the hardest. BIL is making three different pies. Getting past my plateau feels like it will be impossible this month. :( |
It is SOOOO hard to stick to eating well withing the holidays! I'm going to do better than last year. I'm going to pick ONE dessert and have a small portion of it at each gathering. I CAN DO THIS!
|
Ugh. My stomach feels all gross right now... it just started after lunch, but I ate normal things for lunch (soup, orange, walnuts). I ate normal stuff yesterday and for breakfast this morning too... I have no idea what's going on but it is uncomfortable!! Isn't my body supposed to be happy when I feed it good things?? I'm going to drink some tea, see if that helps... bleh. I hope it doesn't continue cos I really need to finish the project at work, I can't justify leaving!
I'm trying to decide if we want to do something for New Year's... we're not doing anything for Christmas, and usually we have a party or something to go to for New Year's. Not this year, though. I was thinking of just getting a nice hotel room or something for New Year's Eve somewhere local... if any still are available. Then again, why pay money to sleep in someone else's bed? We can't really travel... but I have a feeling if we stay home we'll be in bed by 11pm :P I feel like such an old lady sometimes  Sharron: 'atta girl! Just keep the right mindset, be determined, the rest will fall into place :) Amberelise: Good job on making it to the gym! As for the impending holidays, remember, holidays aren't about food! Holidays are about family, friends, happiness... The food is just a side effect :) Never hesitate to say no to food when you know you've had enough, even if there are 3 pies yet to be sampled! Jana: I learned to knit with some random beginner's book I got for Christmas a couple years ago, combined with some online videos of technique (it's hard to describe where to put yarn and where to put needles and fingers, but if someone shows you, it's way easier). As for your arthritis it might not aggrivate it, there isn't too much hand movement involved, and it certainly isn't strenuous. I guess it depends how bad the arthritis is. You could always go get a knitting machine :p sonja: great job on getting to the gym!! And shows like that make me ill too... I mean, seriously. What does it say about society that THOSE are the kinds of people who manage to get on TV shows and paid a bunch of money?? Most of reality TV is just trash.... at least the shows that don't require any special talent from the people (i.e., Fear Factor, A Shot at Love, the Bachelor, etc). The ones where people design stuff or cook stuff or do interesting things are ok :) |
Ok, quick check in to hold myself accountable as I fight another snowstorm and just the general blahs. But I'm GOING TO THE GYM!!!!!!!!! Just 30 min cardio and a little strength training, nothing too scary.
Hopefully when I check in tomorrow, I'll have actually done this. Sonja |
jusj- if i'm correct for your hands you may want the large needles like size 15 and up and cheap yarn is best for a beginner, usually acrylic or superwash wool. i'll try to compile some knitting links for you so you can check them out you might be able to find more info out on the right needles for you. i know they make crochet needles w/ a huge grip but no knitting ones. you can also find teach yourself to knit kits they have all the tools you'd need as a beginner
you can go to any craft store like michaels or if your walmart has a craft dept take a look. i'll try to pm you a list of links this weekend. thats all i got for now i'll pop on later and post more |
Thanks everyone! I can only hope all my friends and family like the gifts. :) Either way it was fun to make them.
lissa I'd love those knitting links! It's something I'd love to try, in fact I have needles and yarn. :D jana I was noticing Remember's absense too... hopefully she's just busy and it's not too much else. Also it's too bad about walking, it can be scary to go at night, is there a well lit stree or something where you'd be able to walk? Amber Hey maintaining through the holiday is totally cool. At least you know the problem days and can be prepared for them. Eat smaller meals earlier on those days, or cut back on calories the day before or something. And keep portions small. Can't do much more than that... sharron Couldn't agree more about holiday eating! Hard to do. suitejudy I'm all about going to bed early. It's a joke with my friends here, we all joke about being old people. My roomie and our friend were wearing some friends glasses and took a picture where they both look like old women, it's awesome. I hope whatever is wrong with your stomach gets better. It's so annoying when you can't pin point the problem. slisette Get to the gym! I believe in you. :) One more exam and then I go home. I need to go for a run here, so I'll be quick, since it's taken me like an hour to write this one post, I'm so distracted. |
