Hi and Healthy Snacks?

Hi all I'm new to this website. I've posted about myself in the "getting to know each other" thread up above with the stickies. But just some quick info about me again, I'm 23 married with one boston terrier. I started losing weight September 2006 at 214 pounds and have only lost 14 pounds so far due to this being the first time I've ever had to lose weight and so I've mainly had to educate myself and teach myself what works for me since I can't afford to do weight loss programs like Jenny Craig, LA weight loss and etc. I always was 120 to 130 before this. So I'm really getting some momentum finally and am feeling confident to step up my efforts and am in enough shape to where I can walk more than 30 minutes on the treadmill finally!

Anyhoo my question is this: What are some healthy snacks some of you eat? I'm getting tired of having plain fruits always. I love fruit but sometimes I want something kind of crunchy like chips but chips are a no no for me! :-) I'm not following any specific weight loss plan. Just counting calories and making sure my portions are correct.

thanks!

One of my favorites is an apple dipped in fat free cream cheese mixed with a little bit of peanut butter. Super yummy! I also like whole grain saltine crackers with a laughing cow light cheese wedge, which only has something like 35 or 40 calories, I believe. I also put a slice of turkey or chicken on it for protein. That might be good when you want something crunchy. Other than that, I stick to fruit, part-skim mozzarella string cheese, sometimes half a Luna bar.

:welcome2: to the forum. There are a lot of calorie counters around here. It's a good way to go. As for your snack question there was a thread about that a few weeks ago I'll try and bump it up for you to take a look at.
