I'm a little bit of a drinker myself - it sucks- I don't even think I go overboard, and then when I begin to count all the calories, look out! My boyfriend and I are used to going out to dinner and getting a bottle of wine- now I just try to order a glass. Not nearly as fun :(
I usually drink Vodka/Sodas when I go out- those aren't too bad, right? I'd better look that up.... |

Oooh I love beer too! And living in England with all these pubs... Actually I love a good beer, good (usually red) wine, and good champagne. I am definitely trying to limit the booze - but I don't think I can give it up entirely! (Uh oh I really do sound like a lush, don't I?)

Wow, I think we need to start a drinkers thread!! Okay, no longer a 20-ish person, but do I love my wine! Or martini. Or margarita. Or beer. I'll drink anything but Scotch--my DH drinks that.
Yes, it is my diet downfall. I know if I were to give it up for a few weeks, I'd see my goal. But there is nothing better than coming home from work, pouring a nice Cabernet, reading the mail and then deciding what to make for dinner. And one should always have a glass of wine while cooking! And then you need a glass to go with your dinner. Catch my drift? Easily a bottle a night. More than that and I get a hangover, though. |

I think my goal this week (and I think we should go ahead and make this the drinkers thread too ;)) is to cut out my drinking after Sunday. Like, I know I am going to drink today, and I always have wine on Sundays, so I am going to make a valiant effort to ditch it Monday through Friday and see what happens. I am pretty confident that if I do so, I will see a 2 pound loss or so for next week's weigh in. This morning, my scale was all over the place! I saw 142, 146, 149, back to 141, so I figured, I have been at 145 for 2 weeks, and I saw 144 a few times; I am going with it. ;) |
And now we have ST. PATRICK'S DAY coming up! In past years, we started drinking at 7 am ! I figure if I drink 2 glasses of water for every beer..? haha... who am I kidding..I'll probably wet my pants.

I have a new plan that I do not recommend to anyone at all. I tried it last night, and I think that it will help me not drink for a while.
What you do is go out with the intention of having two beers. Have four. Then go out with another group of people to a show. Have more drinks and take advantage of the complimentary popcorn and eat a lot of it. Tell your self that if you dance around like an idiot, then that cardio nullifies the calories you are drinking. Wake up feeling horrid and vow to never drink again. Shake the popcorn out of your purse, blame someone -anyone- for the empty box of triscuits and empty can of squeezy cheese. I forsee at least two weeks of no drinking after following my plan. And, I think that tomorrow I will have to add another 20 minutes of cardio since i have been upright for a grand total of two hours today. |

The town where my school is had a St. Patty's parade on the 3rd (for reasons unknown) and then of course the real one is coming up. As if we needed more excuses to drink.
I totally forgot about it coming up, otherwise I wouldn't have had so much while I was in Montreal last weekend. :o But we walked everywhere in Montreal... so I can pretend it evens out... |
