The SIX PACK ABS/Bikini-Ready Bodies CLUB! New Year's Thread
Hello everyone, and happy new year!
Goinforthegold asked if anyone did any holiday binging, and I have to say that I SURE DID! Throughout the ENTIRE month of December, I ate wayyy too many sweet treats, "bad carbs", and greasy/fried things. Surprisingly enough, I did not gain any weight, which makes me think the weight loss powers that be must really love me. However, I also have not made any more ab progress... BUT it's a whole new year now and I'm back on track... YEEEEEAH! For me, back on track means I am aiming for 100-140g protein per day, 1,500 calories or less (weight x 12), 30% or less of fat, and 25 grams of fiber. It's hard, but I am trying! I am going to do this until I see some better abs, then I will probably up my calories to 1,800-2,100 again while keeping the rest of the rules the same.
If you're new to this thread, welcome! Don't be afraid to post... you do NOT have to be in perfect shape here, you are most definitely welcome regardless of whether you have loose skin, stretch marks, cellulite, or what have you, if you already have perfect abs, then that's AWESOME - feel free to help the rest of us out , and there are no rules or guidelines other than the typical 3FC stuff.
Enjoy!!

Well, I didn't binge all month but in 2 weeks I spent binging I put on 4lbs. The powers that be were too busy looking after you to help me out. No fair. LOL I'm supposed to be bulking with about 2000 cals a day right now but haven't told Julie that I'm still holding back at 1500 until I get back down to my pre-Christmas weight. LOL So, shhhh...it's a secret. I'm hoping by the weekend. Oh wait...it is the weekend. Ok, by Monday hopefully.
I'm at roughly 45-50% protein, and the rest divided up between carbs and good fats, with carbs being slightly higher. I'm also getting at least 150g of protein a day because of the weight lifting I'm doing. I'm lifting 5 days a week and doing 30 minutes HIIT on the treadmill 4 times a week.
Here I come 6 pack!!!
Edited to say I've been binge free/eating clean for 3 whole days now!

i didn't pay much attention at all to what i ate over the holidays. although i don't think i overate too much. i did, however, drop the ball on exercise, and i'm still smoking.
i somehow managed to lose weight though.
i just weighed myself and it said 122.5 and its TOM.
i was wondering if anyone had any exercise videos to suggest.
my treadmill is at my boyfriend's apartment and i want something to do when i'm at home.

I used www.push.tv for several months and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it. The only reason I'm not still doing it is b/c I started lifting weights instead hoping for more dramatic results. The second set of progress pics I have put up (I think in the black bathing suit) are from doing PUSH for three months if you want to see what I got from it.
I overate way too much. I still haven't even been able to get the extra lbs off. *sigh* I'm not impressed. It BETTER be b/c of TOM because regardless I have to start eating 2000 calories a day tomorrow or Julie will have my head. I've got one day to get 4lbs off...anyone think it'll happen? LOL
BTW, where the heck is everyone?

Hello again everyone!
I was out of town for most of the holidays so had to live without 3FC for a while dun dun dun.... I weighed 172 the other day so for my month of not so good eating I didn't do much damage at all thank goodness. As Nightengaleshane said it's back to being healthy and working on the abs. Can you believe summer is just a season away?

Morning, 6-packers. (No, not THAT kind, Shane! ). We're a week into the new year... how are those renewed commitments to staying on plan holding up?
I'm contemplating a trip to Hawaii in feb 09. It's too soon to see if it will work out -- gotta check the frequent flier mile situation, for one thing -- but it sure is nice to dream. Good motivation, too!
Stay strong,
Kim

I can't believe I thought this meant six-pack of beer all this time! JK
Seems that way, though! I finally lost the weight I gained over the holidays-only three pounds but they surre didn't want to come off...
I tried on my wedding dress over the holidays- a size 8! I was really aiming for a size 6, but I'll cope. I have been otherwise overwhelmed with wedding stuff.
Good luck to all!

Shane? Where you been girl? Don't you have a photo shoot this month or soon?
Today was the end of week two (month two) so I had to send my trainer progress pics and measurements. Since I got some new pics, I thought I'd update here with my belly shot. Not getting much closer to the six pack I'm afraid. FYI ladies, don't have a cheat day before having to take progress pics. Can you say....BLOATED? Ugh.
How's everyone else doing?

You don't look bloated in your pics at all.
I, on the other hand, and thrilled my wedding dress has a sash... I may need it as camoflage!

I'm still here!
goinforthegold, I don't see any bloating... I think your stomach looks great!
I am not sure if I have made any ab progress, though my ribs and hips are a lot more prominent and my girlfriend swears my stomach is concave. I would take a picture, but I seem to have misplaced the transfer cord to my camera.
Lafayette - size 8 is great! At least you are not in the double digits
I fell off plan YET AGAIN but I am determined to get back and eat only clean. One day, I'll finally get it. And I DO have a photo shoot... though I have to set the date and I do not feel like I am ready yet. Maybe I will dedicate this month to my abs and decide to just bite the bullet and do it next month, since I have the feeling and the fear that I will keep putting it off if I don't just set a date.

I saw a specialist today for my tummy problems (sounds so much nicer than "digestive problems") and was given a ton of fiber supplements and the directive to eat 30 grams of fiber/day. I go back in two weeks, hopefully without my current headaches and severe abdominal cramping. I'm not convinced, but at this stage I guess I'll try anything!
Has anyone heard of Gillian McKeith or the BBC show "You Are What You Eat"? I'm thinking of ordering her cookbook, even though she's been criticized for bad science. Still, pizza with sweet potato crust might work... I need to jump start some weight loss here!

I always watch You Are What You Eat!!
have you tried Activia, Lafayette? I know it might be a stupid question, but I also know it works. I, uh, am not "in need" of those things, but I bought activia at my HW in hopes that it would help me lose a little more a little faster... BIG MISTAKE! I should have eaten CRAP that day because everything I ate turned INTO crap afterall (ok, I might have shared too much, but I'm pretty comfortable about stuff like that).
Hopefully the high fiber diet works for you. If it makes things worse, your body may not produce enough natural bacteria in its intestines to digest the fiber, in which you might want to try some probiotics.

Oh... I can see my hip bones now, ya'll! I can't see them well, but they're there. And I've lost 5 more pounds. My current percent body fat is 20%!! But do I have a 6 pack? NO

Way to go on the weight loss, Shane! Hips rock!
It is so ridiculously COLD here that I am sadly grateful for what blubber I have left!
The high fiber diet is not quite cleaning me out, but I have high hopes for the weight loss benefits!

i recently found out it's possible i could have some health problems. i don't have health insurance so it makes things so much more difficult because i need more testing to see if there is anything wrong with me. it could be months before i'm able to find anything out.
i think maybe the stress from this craziness has made me lose my appetite. i managed to lose quite a bit of weight.
i haven't been this weight since i was in high school.
so at least it's one good thing out of a bad situation.
now i just have to concentrate on being healthy.
