Default New way of thinking

Happy New Year, everyone My name is Karen and I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and tell my new plan for 2008. When i think about needing to lose over 100 pounds it sounds like a lot, but if i lose 36 pounds i will lower my BMI, have more energy, and hopefully lose a dress size or two. So my goal right now is just 36 lbs.( sounds easy right) Good luck and let's lose some weight!

WELCOME!!

When I first started the idea of losing over 100 pounds was very daunting. I also broke it into smaller numbers and just put one foot in front of the other...taking baby steps!!

Good luck!

Welcome, Karen! I also had a hundred to lose and felt the same way. I am shooting right now to lose 10% of my sarting weight, then I will go for the next 10%. It feels very obtainable when I look at it that way.

You can do it...just get going and take those baby steps.

you look great....that is so awesome. I just started this yesterday and already fell off the wagon. I am a late night eater....I do good all day...but then get crazy or something...I start to nibble on this and that....and before long...it is a mess..
how did you lose all your weight? You are an inspiration to me...just looking at your pictures...wow...that is so great...keep it up...Jan

Welcome, Karen -- sounds like a great plan. I agree -- it's easier to break it down into something manageable. I used to sniff at losing "only" a pound a week. Then I realized that if I woke up tomorrow weighing 52 pounds lighter (a year's worth of pound-a-week-losses), that would probably be okay Actually, if I'd lost a pound a MONTH every month over the past ten years, I'd be thin now. This time, I'm going for changing habits, getting healthy -- and being happy that weight is coming off, too.

Welcome Karen. I think you have a great attitude and I know you can do this. I also broke my weight loss down and just took 10 pounds at a time. I never thougth about the full amount I had to lose. It worked for me and I know it can work for you as well. You will be amazed at the difference it will make in your life!
