Kind of. Liquids pass through the stomach differently than solids. My understanding is a little fuzzy, but it was explained to me this way. Your stomache is sort of like an acid filled soft funnel like bag. The solids have to become liquid (or at least a paste) before they can pass out of the stomach. But if you add liquid, it can move out of the stomache fairly quickly, even if there is already solid material in the stomach. Just like if you put bread in a funnel and add milk. The milk will pass through the bread out of the funnel, but it will take longer for the bread to dissolve enough to pass through the hole of the funnel.
