Default Wintery Weekend Chick In

The cawfees a brewin' the tea kettle a whistlin' soda pop tops a poppin' in'--so stop by to pick up your caffeine of choice

Seriously, Black Friday is only for the fit, alert, feisty and ruthless! We were out all day looking for a fridge. Thankfully Home Depot honors Lowes coupons as we got "suchadeal" on a Ge Profiler but we were exxxxhausted afterwards and had to take a wee kip that turned into a complete flat out coma. So today I got lots of catching up to do for this move.
I know alot of you will be out shopping and putting up trees and lights! I just love the long Thanksgiving weekend!
Alrighty, time to gas up the tank and get ready to rumble! Whatever you got planned: ......Let's GIT ER DONE!

Happiness is sleeping in and waking up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee wafting up the stairs.

Schatzi, I was out there yesterday, and it wasn't too bad. We went to three different malls and had no trouble at any of them. We found some terrific deals, too. I'm glad you got a good deal on your fridge.

We'll be busy today putting up the Christmas decorations and trees. We put up three trees, one in the family room that the grandkids are allowed to decorate and rearrange, one in the kitchen, and MY tree in the livingroom that no one but me is allowed to touch. It's a lot of work, but that's why I always do it over the long Thanksgiving weekend. But by Christmas I'm tired of looking at them and can't wait to take them down again!

Good Morning Ladies

Schatzi I completely agree with you about Black Friday. It's definitely not for the faint of heart.
Cottage Glad you got great deals yesterday. I wish I had your motivation to do all things Christmas right now but I am putting it off for one more day.

So I've decided to avoid the scale for about three days so that whatever damage I did on Turkey Day should partially correct itself and I'll have a truer idea of how far I have to go to make November goal. I had actually hit it the day before Thanksgiving but.......now I don't know.

Brian and I did what we could to deliver popcorn in the cold yesterday but not too many people were home. Unfortunately we have an 80% chance of rain today (60 tomorrow) and the high is only in the 40's but we have to get out there when we can. Brian's still got a nasty sounding cough but says he feels fine. I got a sore throat last night and I think it's turning into a cold. I would much rather just stay inside today but Brian doesn't want to go deliver with his dad so I'll have to go out.

My weight is one pound higher than before Thanksgiving and that is still 6.5 down on the month so I am happy with that. Of to get some breakfast and hot tea.

good morning ladies

I made it through turkey day pretty well. I have not stepped on the scale and don't want to until Monday a.m. We won't decorated this weekend because the kids think they need to have friends over for the long weekend. It is good to have the house where the kids like to come. Didn't go out yesterday, just couldn't get myself excited enough to go. Normal weekend doing here. Hope you stay warm we finally got cool enough to get out the sweats.

Better get started. Have a great and safe day!

Good morning! It's Sunday here already...where did the weekend go? Didn't do any shopping (unless you count for restocking the fridge) this weekend. Black Friday isn't so big in Asia!

I'm going running with a new friend today. I don't know how it's going to go. I'm pretty slow so I hope she doesn't get annoyed with me. She suggested it and I didn't want to offend her by saying I wouldn't go so I figure at least having a running "date" will get me out, and if it works out it will be a good form of accountability. Should be in the low fifties this afternoon, so that's nice for running outside. Last Sunday when I went it was in the thirties and that was a little too cold. Next weekend, our gym is having an "aerobathon" (did I spell that right?) and I'm going to try to make it...four hours of different classes (spin, "chisel", step, and yoga) should make up for Thanksgiving indulgences!

Gotta get ready for Sunday School. Have a nice night everyone!

DD and I got out yesterday, and while the crowds weren't so bad, we didn't find what we were looking for. Today, I worked on the @#$% photo calendar, but am still having IT problems, so that's not done yet. I went up to visit my grandmother this afternoon, her sister is visiting from FLA, and I hadn't seen her (my great aunt) in a long time. It was fun watching the two ninety-some-year-old sisters together reminiscing. I'm sure it did my grandmother a lot of good to see her. My mom had a dinner for me and SIL this evening, so more visiting with family. It's been a fun, family and feast filled few days, and I did my best to stay on the beach, but I have to admit, I'm looking forward to getting back to normal. My weight this morning was the same as last Saturday, so I am happy with maintenance for now. I will just have to wait a little longer to see onederland. DS has a friend over to spend the night, so I'm hoping that doesn't mean I'll be up all night! Hope all you chicks are having a fun weekend!

I made it back home to FL about an hour ago. The first thing I saw when I walked thru the door was a new TV....I'm so ticked off. DH didn't discuss this with me. Grrr!

My November Exercise tracker is sadly behind, I hope I can remember which days I walked what.

I finished my 5K in 44:44. Combination of walking/running. I just couldn't run the whole way..yet. Now I'm developing a cold from being out in the cold and rain the day of the race.

I'm going to bed now, I'll check back in tomorrow and finish reading all the new posts.

It's shaping up to be a beautiful day today! Jake is going to put up the outside decorations for me, then he'll be busy raking up about a zillion leaves the rest of the day while I finish decorating inside. I want to run out and do a little shopping this afternoon, too. I finally thought of the perfect present for my SIL, and want to pick it up while the store still has it!

Good morning!

The weekend is flying by. It's been fun visiting with DD - we talk a lot but don't see each other often enough. She even managed to drag me out shopping yesterday. It wasn't too bad, though she got a bit frustrated. I made my SB sauce last night and made her pasta with it (Italian mothers are, apparently, required to make sauce for visiting off-spring!). I ate one noodle, just to check for doneness and had no desire to eat more! Pasta is the one thing I thought I would miss like crazy but it turns out it's just the sauce I love

Enjoy the rest of the weekend all!

Morning chicks,
I've been a busy bee this morning, trying to get a jump start on cooking for the week. I expect it to be a busy work week, with everyone trying to catch up from last week!
I think I'll do a little yard work now, since it's pretty out, and then a little decorating. I want to get my desk cleaned off too and get organized for the week.

The scale is toying with me. I had not expected to lose anything this week. I've behaved for the most part, but I'm sure I've eaten more than usual. But this morning I am down a lb! That puts me 1 lb away from the goal I wanted to make by tomorrow. I know, that's a good thing, but it's driving me crazy, so close and yet so far! I've been hovering on the edge of onederland for a couple of weeks now, it's like torture.

Hope you are all enjoying a long weekend!

It's been a busy weekend here... I can't believe it's over! Turkey day went well. We had delicious food without overdoing it. The house is decorated and mostly cleaned up. (Laundry is piled up but I'm ignoring it. I still have hope for laundry fairies.) I have grocery shopping on the list still... I've been decidedly off-plan but thankfully only gained 2 pounds.

DH and I will have our 15th anniversary this January and we will celebrate with a quick trip up to NY for a few days... without the kiddies! I know I'll miss them but boy am I excited for some alone time with dh! (Is that wrong?)

The main problem I'm having is the intense desire for some cold weather comfort foods... chicken and dumplins' are dancing through my mind! Wish me strength gals...

Quick check-in. We are about to erect the Christmas tree here at my DD's house. Talk about excited kids!
The trip is going well - it's so nice to just hang out with my daughter, her man and the kidlets. Tomorrow it'll be just us girls!
Been eating lots of salmon - and loving it! No idea what my weight is but it IS Christmas here!
