I copied this from the old thread since I just posted it this morning. Just wanted to update you, and for you to know how much I've missed you guys!!!!

Ladies, I have returned, and I hope I don't have anything else that will take me away! My husband came home late Friday afternoon, and it has been hectic around here. I've tried to nap when he does because I am totally pooed out. Trying to make sure he doesn't overdo things. We took a short walk yesterday, and I mean short! He is on oxygen, and we are hoping he won't have to be on it long. From mid-August until last week one day, he gained almost 50 pounds of fluids. His belly is looking much better. He has lost 10 pounds since he weighed here Sat. morning and when he weighed today. I know our scales are low, but we don't care about the right weight right now for him. We just know he is down 10 pounds. We're monitoring his BP, pulse, and sugar levels pretty close to report to the doctor when we go. We go to the family doctor the end of this week and to 2 specialists next week.

During his 2 weeks in the hospital, I gained 3 pounds. As of this morning, those are gone, and I am back to journaling now that I'm home more. It helps. Alli is my friend again too. lol

I missed chatting with you all. I've skimmed the posts, but I won't try to respond to all of them. You guys talk alot!!!! Just know that I wish you all the best, and we CAN DO THIS!!!!!

OK things have setteled a little.

Tammy-So glad hubby is home again, that is GREAT!!! I am also glad your 3lbs have vacated....wonderful.

I see we have several new people starting to post, WELCOME!!!!!

As for me, still about the same, not gaining but not losing either....I think I am started to adjust to the new dose of the meds, that will help. I had to take my oldest to the hospital yesterday with a TERRIBLE asthma attack. The bad thing is that she DOESNT have asthma...or at least never did!!! She just got released about 30 minutes ago and is now heading to school. I am back at work and trying to catch up on everything. Like I said I see we have some new people posting...that is great. I hope all is going good for everyone!

Hi Everyone,
I've returned from California! I actually lost a couple of pounds while I was gone - I think it's 'cuz I didn't eat sugar. No desserts at my mom's house or my sister's house. All they had was ice cream which wasn't appealing. I had a piece of cake at the wedding. I didn't take Alli while I was gone, even though I did bring it with me.

I've been working on readjusting to the 3 hour time change. It was an ok trip all in all, but I'm so happy to be home. This was my first trip back to California in 8 years. I can honestly say that I have no desire to move back. For a long time, forever really, I always thought if there was a chance I'd move back but there's just too many people, it's too expensive, the roads are too crowded, there's too much smog. So, like Dorothy, I'll just say there's no place like home! And home is Michigan!

Time to get myself together and start journalling and tomorrow I will eat low-fat and by Wednesday I hope to be taking alli again.

Tammy- I need to go back and read the old thread to hear about your husband. But glad to hear he's back home!!

Default Hi Ladies

My name is Cindy and I've been on Alli since September 1st, although I started low fat August 28. I have a bunch of weight to lose and I'm hoping I've found the way to get it done with Alli.

I'm married to a tiny man who never complains about my weight, but he just doesn't understand. Of course, he's a skinny person with a healthy relationship with food I'm 44 and have 6 kids, 3 are grown though. I also am a grandmother of 2 with one more due in November.

I have been on every diet out there, give or take. I've had some temporary success (lost 77 lbs on Atkins once), but I've always ended up back where I started. This time is different. With Alli, I am just changing my regular foods to low/non fat versions, eating more fruits and veggies and carefully watching portions. I incorporate the frozen low fat meals in when I want.

I've done very well I guess because I've not had any TEs Boy, fear of TE's will sure keep ya on the low fat band wagon.

Anyway, it's so nice to find you all. I've been looking for a good Alli Forum for weeks. The myalli site is just not suitable.

Hope you all don't mind if I join you!!

Still, how scary for you and your daughter with the asthma attack! Let us know how things are going. I agree it is nice to see some new people on here!! More support for everyone.

Bright, welcome back!!! I've never been to California. My hubby was stationed there in the Marines, and I'm sure things have changed tremendously since he was there. I couldn't see myself living there. I could see myself living in Michigan though. lol Bob and I talked before he went to the hospital that we should just make a weekend trip up there, but now I don't think we'll be able to.

Cindy, welcome!!!!!! I'm with you on having quite a bit to lose. Don't let my tracker deceive you. I am doing it in 10 pound increments. I know that Alli isn't a miracle cure, but it helps me stay accountable. I started mid-July on Alli, and we took a trip to Florida right after I started which was a lot of eating out of course. I've lost 12 pounds with a recent gain of 3 while my hubby was in the hospital. Ice cream stress eating did me in!! I have lost those 3, so I'm back to 12. I know there are many who have lost more in less time, but I am satisfied. I know that at my age (52), it isn't going to come off as easy. I also know that I don't get in as much exercise as I should. I am trying to change that. I have to agree with you about the myalli site. Too confusing to find where I've posted before. This is soooooooooooooo much better. Glad that you found us!!!

Default Morning ALL!!!

Well then, ain't we just the cat's pajamas? (Never really knew what that meant, but Granny used to say it when we'd done something good, heheh)

Glad to see everyone's back up and running.
I struggled this weekend with the first cold of the season, so of course I had to have chicken noodle soup and crackers and pretty much all the so-called comfort foods. Got no exercise at all, unless you count stumbling from the bed to the couch. Generally did everything I know better than to do.

But the good news is, my weigh-in this morning has me holding steady. I was sure I'd added a pound or two, but it looks like I dodged the bullet this time.

Got back on track yesterday, so lets see what happens at next week's weigh-in.

Tammy- We all lose at our own pace. If I've learned anything in my diet experience, its that Im not in a hurry. Steady weight loss is my target. Making heathy choices is my target as well. Of course, I'd love to wake up skinny tomorrow, but its just not going to happen I also need to make exercise a target. I do manage a mile walk 3-4 days a week, but I also use any excuse I can to not make it 7 days a week, lol. You're doing a great job!!

Beck- sorry you were sick, its difficult to stick to plan when you're not feeling well. Great job getting back on track!!

Today is my official myalli weigh in day, I'm down 2 lbs. this week for a 14 lb. total loss. I'm very happy with that. If I could lose 2 lbs a week, steadily, I'd be thrilled. I'm not sure that will happen in the long term. I'm busy convincing myself that if the weight loss slows (or when it does), I am going to start upping exercise. This takes a lot of convincing for me, so I'm rolling it around in my every day

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Cindy, welcome and good luck! 2lbs is GREAT!

Beck, the cold and flu season is coming! Remember to take your vitamins!!

My daughter is doing better, I did have to cancel her allergist appointment since they have her on so many meds right now, there is no point in trying to see what she is allergic to.

I am doing ok! Nothing spectacular. I have noticed that I am retaining water like CRAZY!!! I feel miserable, but it will pass I am sure.

Stilltryin- Sometimes its just harder than others. Life gets complicated and the best we can do is hang in there. Just keep hanging on, drink some extra water (it'll take more with it when leaves). Hope you are feeling better soon.

I know all of us are doing different eating plans, but I have a question....How hard are each of you trying to reach your myalli targets?

They say I'm to strive for 1800 calories per day and 19 grams of fat per meal. When I'm cooking, it doesn't seem to be a problem, but when I'm eating the frozen meals (Smart ones, Healthy Choice) I'm way under. Sometimes I add stuff to it to up the calories and fats, but I'm wondering if it necessary.

Anyway, I'm just interested to know how you all are doing it.

I have read the posts on the myalli site on this issue.

Do you take alli with every meal? My mom mentions I should need to take it all the time, especially if I'm eating right. But I don't know. I still like how alli can help me control myself.

I take it with any meal that has over 5 grams of fat. They say it doesn't help if the meal is lower than that.

What I don't understand is....why do they say that at all. It seems to me that they should instead be advising us not to eat meals that low, because it would be far below "their" targets for us.

Who here eats breakfast every day? Do you force it, or does it just come natually to you? I'm just curious because they all say breakfast is very important and I'm trying to get in the habit, but I do have to force it. If I get busy though, sometimes its still 10:00 or 10:30 before I eat. That is still something I need to work on.
