Fun Food Finds
I just wanted to share an awesome, fairly healthy food I discovered today. It's called Breakstone's Cottage Doubles...Lowfat cottage cheese with strawberry, peach, or one other type of fruit I can't remember. I just ate the strawberry one...It is like a strawberrry jam you mix in with the cottage cheese...Delicious!!! And very filling. 130 cals, 2 g fat, 11 g protein..Yum!

I'm going to have to try those. Right now I eat a lot of Breakstone's 2% cottage cheese (it's the best flavor) with fruit I add myself. My favorite fruit to use on cottage cheese is fresh cantaloupe with a good sprinkling of black pepper. Really good!! I also love pineapple and peaches mixed in. Del Monte makes a low carb canned fruit that is really good if I don't use fresh fruit, which is what I prefer.
What is the sugar content of those Breakstone's Cottage Doubles? If it's like a jam I would worry about high fructose syrups.

I too, eat cottage cheese every week, and add my own fresh fruit. YUM! It makes an easy lunch if I am in a hurry.

Well, it looks like curdled milk because it *is* curdled milk!
When I wasn't vegan, I used to eat cottage cheese with pineapple. It was very filling and I liked the nutritional stats!

I'm starting to love cottage cheese. It's more the bland flavour and texture than anything else that puts me off.
A local company, Tararua, sell garlic and chive flavoured cottage cheese and since I discovered it, it's always in my fridge.
Another suggestion is to top cucumber slices with cottage cheese and freshly ground black pepper. Yum!

speaking of a fun food find!!!
I was not expecting much when I purchased organic cookies, called Shasha Co. Organic Artisan Bakery -- Cocoa Snaps" but you get 15 little cookies for 140 cals, no trans fat and even has some fibre... so i was expecting dry gross carboard -- BUT they were lovely! very snappy, crispy, chocolatey!!! yum!!!

I used to love that too! Also, with lemon pepper and reduced fat "Ritz" crackers.

Chive and tomato in mine... I don't know anyone else who has had it like that and I have no idea where my mom got it.

I want to try the lemon pepper thing, but I have no lemon pepper. Woe! I will have to add it to the grocery list....
