Default Resistance is futile !

What do we think of resistance bands? The kind that stretch hand to hand across your chest, or the long kind you stand on and can bend up to your shoulders with hand grips? Anyone use them? Are you a fan??

PS I saw a friend I hadn’t seen in months and she’s dropped a ton of weight – I asked her how her facial tone looked so good – you know sometimes people who lose a lot of weight have a weird creepy face?? LOL, well she told me she did facial exercises the whole time! Whenever she thought of it, she’d lean her had back, stare at the ceiling and do a “chewing” motion to strengthen her chin/jaw/neck! Awesome looking actually !

This is a post about a resistance band workout. Resistance bands are pretty good because they are very portable, inexpensive and lightweight.

I've never really used them though.

My new workout video has a resistance band portion that I really look forward to. I like that the band is self-adjustable and you can make the workout as light or intense as you want. At first I thought it was a silly little gimmick but I am amazed at how much work it actually is to stretch that thing!

I use a resistance band all the time. And I've got the muscles to prove it!

Here's a couple of workouts using them:

I use them for my arms and shoulders and they are my favorite parts of my "new" body. I think they're great.

I love my resistance bands. I do them when I'm watching TV at night instead of eating.

Hi Ladies,

One other benefit of using resistance bands is the health of your bones. I just recently found out that I have the beginning stages of osteoporosis. The good new is that resistance and weight bearing exercise can help prevent and reverse osteoporosis....it literally builds stonger bones! I just recently purchased a 'how to' resistance band dvd from Target for $9.99. I havent looked at it yet, but starting resistance band training is on my agenda for this week.

You know people tend to look down upon them (not here) but even P90x which is sorta like the uber home DVD workout system for advanced people uses resistance bands...

good enough for them... good enough for me I say!

When I was doing physical therapy for my back, they would give me resistence bands off of a gigantic roll. It was so cool to see like a massive industrial sized resistance band roll that they just unfurled and gave me a few feet.

Anyway, I use them at my desk when I'm bored or talking to a really long-winded client. My co-workers think I'm insane but that's okay (and probably has little to do with the resistance bands ). And my back feels much better when I remember to use them.
