Smile What is the one thing...(Warning:contains "off" plan food talk)

What is the one food that you crave alot of, and if it is in the house you will eat uncontrolably? I know for me I can't get enough ice cream, I love me some nice cold creamy goodness!
Now...what do you do to keep yourself away from that product? I try not to but it, and when I do I buy the small little ones, but I almost think that is worse, because then I think to myself 'I already messed up today, I mine as well finish it and start clean tomorrow'!! Which is totally horrible, I just can't stop myself!! Any suggestions?

Chips. I love chips. I would buy the 100 calorie pack doritos. There are 5 in a box and I would eat a whole box in 1-2 days. 2-3 packs a day. CRAZY!!!!
If we have chips in the house then I will just keep eating them and not even realize that I ate almost the whole bag. so then I put them away and then later i will get the rest of the chips and finish them.

Chocolate. I can't keep chocolate in the house. I can have it at work, but only in small portions.

I can't have cookies, cake, or any sort of pastry or I would eat it all and hate myself. So those foods are completely off my list of foods I'm allowed to eat until I reach goal and learn that one little cookie is my portion size.

Cheez-it, chips, and anything remotely cake-like are my biggest triggers and foods that I do not have the ability to eat in moderation so I do not keep them in the house. I used to sit down with a BOX of cheez-it and then look down half hour later and realize that I can see the bottom of the box. I also tend to binge on anything that sounds like it might be harmless, like rice cakes. I used to eat a whole package thinking, what can rice cakes hurt? Now when I check the package at the store I realized that I was polishing off 1000 Calories worth of RICE CAKES! What a complete waste of a day's calories. I do like ice cream a lot, but I have discovered that I am able to eat this in moderation so that is my big treat. I have 1/2 cup of ice cream every night (full fat, whatever kind I want). It's usually about 140-160 calories, and I measure it with extreme care. I find it satisfying and don't try to go back for more. Now, if there were cupcakes in the house, don't even bother asking me to save you one. They will be gone. *Sigh* bye bye, cupcakes.

While I don't really crave anything, if it's in the house, I'll definitely want it so we don't have that kind of stuff in the house. Ice cream would be one thing, for sure, and really any kind of sweets. Peanut butter (the natural stuff--don't have a problem with Jif or Skippy) is a hard one for me, but I've learned to let it live on the top shelf so my DH can have some. If I want some, I really have to work at it, and sometimes I do.

Bars of stuff. Fiber One especially. I ate four one day of the peanut butter one and spent like four days in the bathroom. They're not kidding with the fiber. Cliff bars, power bars, etc. I have no control over them at all.

Argh. Any kind of pastry (cakes, pies, frosting from the can, etc.). Knocks me down everytime. I keep it away from me and me away from it.

Regular chips (the baked ones don't bug me) and milk chocolate. Also, any candy that's small and "poppable", Skittles, MnM's, Jr.Mints, etc. I'll sit and munch an entire box or bag in one sitting. I've polished off a 1 lb bag of peanut butter MnM's by myself before.

Ice cream, cake, cookies, you get the idea, I don't even bother buying them for me anymore, because I know I will just eat and eat and eat.

peanut butter is evil - I hear it calling my name.

I have a weird thing that I can buy biscuits or icecream etc and am fine as long as they are unopened. Once they are opened, they are gone....I have to finish them. weird.

Any kind of pastry item....cookies, cakes, doughnuts....you name it, I'll eat it if its starchy and sweet!

I do eat 1/2 cup of sugar free ice cream each evening. If its not too much temptation for you, you might try it. The Eddys brand is yummy. Otherwise, ban it from the house! There are many things that we don't allow into the house anymore....chips, regular soda, cookies, regular peanut butter, white bread. The best way to avoid temptation is to make it harder to obtain your trigger food.

cookies and doughnuts are bad but nothing compared to milk! i can't keep milk in the house anymore i can quite happily drink 6-7 pints a day. im' on the atkins at the moment and milk is bad. especially how i drink it. so i'm forcing unsweetend soya milk down me with my all bran. its so foul even the cat turns his nose up at it.

Bread is another bad one the smell of freshly baked warm granary loaf mmmmmmmmmmmmm. i can eat a loaf in a day easy.
