Books?
Hey!
I was just wondering if anyone might be interested in doing like a book club-ish sort of thing? I know you're all terribly busy, but I find a lot of times if I am tempted to eat something I know I shouldn't settling down with a good book gets my mind off of it.

I'd be curious for sure. I guess it would depend on what's being read at different times. I'm kind of a "snob" when it comes to reading. haha

Ooo, count me in! I love reading. Though it'd have to be kinda slow paced so we could all keep up, because I know so many people (myself included) are ridiculously busy. But I love reading, I love finding new reads, and I love discussing what I have read, so I think that is a wonderful idea!

I love to read. I like VC Andrews (her original works) and Bertrice Small for Romance. I have a tendency to read the same things over and over.

Sounds like a good idea, but I'm kind of picky too -- what kind(s) of books were you thinking of?

Yay! I am shocked so many people are interested! This is awesome. I understand everyone is soooo busy so we could totally be slow-paced and do it on a book-to-book basis. I didn't really have any "type" of books in mind, whatever y'all are up for, I'm pretty much up for. I'll pretty much read anything once
Any suggestions?

Answering a question with a question -- do we want to start with fiction or non-fiction?

Could we start with fiction?

I have a book suggestion, but there is one problem with it....it's LONG! It's called From the Corner of His Eye, by Dean Koontz. It's a big read, but it is the best thing I have ever read.
Other good books:
My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
The Next Thing on my List - Jill Smolinski
The Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards
Eating Heaven - Jennie Shortridge
Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - Mark Haddon
I found a website and set up a 3FC Readers book club. For those who are seriously interested, supposedly all you have to do is let me know what your email is and I can send an "invite". That might be a way to help us be a little more organized.

Oh wow Winter, that's awesome. Yeah I am totally interested. Starting with fiction sounds good to me. All those books you listed sound great, I am a huge Jodi Picoult fan, and actually most of her books come with book club question in the back.

The website is www.bookmovement.com. I set up a bookclub on there called 3FC Readers (the title is changeable, it's just a work in progess). Groups are by invite only. It has a lot of cool features on there, like all users can add book suggestions, we can set up discussion times and send out reminders, they have lists of questions and whatnot for a lot of the books, to get the conversation going, etc. In order to get to the club, you have to sign up (which is annoying, but free, so no worries), and then I can send an email to everyone who wants to join (you an PM your email addresses, send me a message on yahoo, leave them here, whatever works for you) and all you have to do is accept when you get the email.
