Thumbs up Ok..........let's try this again!!

Ok, I will not let my temper get the best of me! I just typed a long post and tried to attach a picture & it said it was too big and then when I finally got back........everything was gone!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Ok, I feel better now. Anyways, I just got home from work and it is so nice right now. Everyone is still asleep and the only sound I hear other than my chubby fingers clicking away is my stomach that just growled. No one is saying, "Mom.......where is this...or I need this......or can I have this.....or how much longer?"
Soooo nice!
I am changing my WI (not Wisconsin) day to Mondays. My off days are Sundays and Mondays and it would be a whole lot easier to go when I'm off than to try to cram my meeting into a really hectic working day. The main reason I have stayed on Tuesdays is because I have a friend that went with me and that was the only day she could go. But.......she just quit on me. She doesn't like the WW program. She feels it is very impersonal and would rather be on a program that is more one-on-one. I however, am just the opposite. I would rather WI, go sit down in my seat and blend in with all the others and get motivation from the meetings rather than talking with someone one-on-one. I have been on those type of programs before and I just don't care for them. I will miss her though. But that's ok, because I carry you guys with me when I go, and even though you are not sitting on the seat beside me, you are there in my heart and mind.
Not sure how WI will go this week. Since I'm changing to Mondays, it shortens my usual week by a day, plus this is my TOM and I have a very heavy flow and haven't been able to exercise much this week........sorry, too much info.
I have done my walking video once this week and I cleaned both my bathrooms, vaccumed the livingroom and dusted, so that should count for something!!
Well, I guess I'm gonna hop on out of here for now. I think I hear little footsteps in the hall and thus ends my peace and quiet. I would like to mention though, that my mom is coming over sometime today and I wonder what mega beast outfit she will be bringing with her?? Please..................say a prayer.

Check back in with you guys later. {{{Hugs}}} to all!!!

I had a salad. and DH and I shared an individual pizza and a small serving of lasagna. It was so good. Didn't go to a movie.

GOOD MORNING

It's finally feeling alittle bit like spring, it's only -9 C this morning and will probalby get up to +1 C (yeeha) I can finally break out the old running shoes and go for a nice walk outside, if only all this snow would melt, I guess I shouldn't get to eager it's suppose to get cold again. Where getting our winter in March and had spring in January, go figure.

I've kept on PO for the last 3 days and have used my minimum points or less I know they say to use up your points but when the day's done and your not hungry why try and shove more food in your mouth, I eat alot of veggies and they don't have any points so my points daily have been low. I just hope the scale agree's.

Next weekend is Easter, that's going to be a bad bad weekend ( for eating). All the chocolate that's going to be around as well as Easter dinner and my birthday, I'll probably gain 10lbs. ( I take that back I will not eat chocolate and will have small helpings and not blow a good weight loss, because of special occasions, it will only make it harder to reach my goal.)

Chat to ya'll later

Tina What did you get? What did you get?
I have to say I don’t like one on one weight loss programs AND I don’t like Weight Watchers. I just don’t like having to lose weight period!!!

Duckie The weather was like that here too. However, I decided I prefer this to the 80 below wind chill AND snow we usually have in December and January. Any good vegie receipe’s or ideas. I love them but have reached the point where I just can’t think of one more way to make them.

Mary You are probably so happy the hubby is home you don’t even care if he is sick. ( well, other that sorry he feels bad, I mean)

Hello ladies!!

Tina: OOOOOH! I just can't WAIT to hear about the next outfit!! And I TOTALLY know what you mean about those precious few quiet moments!! Have to enjoy them while they last!!

Duckie: I cured my easter problem this year. Everything I bought for my kids baskets is stuff I don't like!! Well, except the chocolate bunnies, but those will be the first thing to go so I don't have to worry about it.

Lucky: I'm with you girl! I was about 250 calories below my minumum yesterday, but I wasn't hungry. Why on earth should I force myself to eat if I encounter the rare occasion that i am NOT hungry. Besides, there are days where I'm over, so it evens out.

So far I am having another good day. Doing great on my calories, and did 30 minutes of exercise that have my muscles feeling like limp noodles! I REALLY hope to see some results somewhere this week, either on the scale or in inches. I'll weigh and measure bright and early Friday.

Anyhoo, a quick HELLO to everyone else, and I'll talk at ya later,
Jen

Hi there...

DH is at work, DD is at work, DS is at my sister's...I'm sipping my coffee, I have the computer ALL to myself, I have my funky, low down blues CD playing and ............I'm lonely! I miss them! I will find something to do to keep me out of trouble (meaning, the kitchen)! The possibilities are endless...I could finish the laundry (nah) pick up the house (maybe later) exercise (hmmm) prepare dinner (see yesterday's post re:dinner prep when dh is away) do some gardening...ahhh! Bingo! It's about 53 out today, feels positively BALMY after the past 3 or 4 days in the 20s! I know, I know, that would be a heat wave to you northern gals, while Malia would be freezing her little tootsies off! We do cover a lot of territory, don't we??

Neat quilt, Lucky! Are you a quilter? I've always wanted to learn. I have been saving scraps and material forever, to make a patchwork quilt...I'd really better get started, I'd like to give it to my daughter to take away to school with her...NEXT YEAR! Then I can get started on one for my son...

One of the tasks I have planned to complete before dh gets home Thursday is to clean out his side of the closet and his dresser...There is a treasre trove of ugly clothes there, just waiting to be recycled...OK, one more clothing story...MANY years ago, I know it was back in the "Miami Vice" days, mid 80's, my husband, thinking he was cool, was wearing this colorful, Hawaiian print shirt...it was nice, very summery and in style AT THE TIME! MIL saw that and thought, A HA! Now I know what he likes!! and has been sending the most god awful Hawaiian (no offense, Malia) print shirts ever since! Now, I'm not talking just flowers here...I'm talking about violently clashing colors and designs...sometimes I think, "oh come on, this is a test, isn't it?" I think she's waiting for him to say "MA! What the heck are you thinking when you buy this crap?" But we just politely thank her. I have told her that it's hard to buy clothes for someone else, why not send a gift cert instead...which she has done, ALONG WITH the latest shipment of snazzy threads! A few have been used at Halloween...generally they go to the Goodwill bin. I like to picture the two of us going out on the town decked out in some the garish outfits that she has sent us!

I have a recipe to share, I found it on the box of Minute Brown rice...I'm making this for dinner tonight...my kids won't know what hit 'em!

20 min Chicken and Brown Rice Pilaf

4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 Tbsp veg oil
1 can (10.5 oz) chicken broth
1/2 c. water
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup frozen peas
2 cups Minute brown rice, uncooked
*****************************
Heat oil in skillet. Add chicken, cook until browned, remove from pan. Add chicken broth and water; stir. Heat to a boil.
Stir in mushrooms, onion, peas and rice. Top with chicken. cover. Cook on low heat 5 min or until chicken is cooked through. Let stand 5 min. 4 servings.

I'm making a big salad to balance out the meal. If I could find that blueberry crisp recipe, that would be for dessert...wasn't that on one of our threads? It calls for a can of fruit topped with dry cake mix and maybe melted butter...help me out, anyone know what I'm talking about?

Well, I'd better go...much as I'd like to, I can't sit here all day, clacking away on these keys! Gotta go find my gardening gloves...

Have a wonderful Sunday, my friends...

Hi everyone,

Boy is this thread active. I'm finishing my last post and will sit down in front of tv to watch E! Oscar red carpet. I love to pamper myself. Today is from head to toe. Color, plucking, facial/mask, hand soaking, nails, foot soak....I better get to it. Wow, this celeb has a 27million dollar diamond necklace on with a 3 guard escort. Oooo, and wearing million dollar diamond sandals. Nuts.

I'm back to day 1 of the 21day challenge. I had a productive week. Kept to my plan every day. Tomorrow I'll know more about the job opening. My boss will be back from vacation.

Enjoy,
malia

Hi everybody! Figured I better get in here before midnight EST as they moved the site shut down to tonight in case you all didn't know. Of course by now, it's too late for you to know, if you didn't. You'll just get here and wonder what happened. Then hopefully sometime in the morning it will be back and all will be right with the world.

I made a big breakfast this morning, bacon, eggs and toast. It was very good and I tried to be moderate. Then had our fish fry tonight. Boy those little perchies were good. A real treat! I told my guys if they would fish and fillet, I would fry. We'll see if that ever happens.

On the subject of Losing Posts: I have learned my lesson. Now I copy my post before hitting the submit button. I don't really copy it TO anywhere, I just use the function. That way if it knocks me off, I can just paste it back into the message section and send it again. Hope that makes sense.

Michelle: Hope the rest of your weekend with your folks has gone well. You'll probably be glad when you life/eating gets back to normal.

Katrina: You go on the Curves visits. You're doing great. In the old days, when I was like 18, we had a place that sounds real similar to Curves. They had rollers and weights and benches and some other equipment, bikes, etc. You showed up in a leotard and it took maybe 45 minutes to get through the whole routine. I don't remember what we paid for the membership, but I did go for awhile. * The chicken and rice sounds like it would be really good. * You're picturing the two of you out in those outfits, I was picturing the homeless on the streets in NJ all decked out in Hawaiin shirts!

Malia: Sounds like you had Fun Friday on Sunday! You go girl. Pamper yourself!

LuckyLadyBug: The problem, I guess, with not eating enough is that your body goes into starvation mode and feels like you will never feed it again and so it starts to store fat. You'll have to see what works for you and then stick with it. * That quilt was really awsome.

Joe anne: I love that your nieces are stealing YOUR clothes! What a hoot. Should make you feel good that they like your taste.

Jen: Oooooo, Milano's. Gotta stay away from them! * Good job buying stuff you don't like for the Easter baskets. That's very smart.

2cute: Glad you got here to at least start the thread. Leave it to you to find a welcome sign that you could attach. I think our thread looks so much nicer with it! * You must be beat by now. You haven't been here very much so I'm guessing the girls are keeping you very, very busy! Don't overdo it. Just relax and enjoy!!!!

Tina: I think you'll like the Monday Weigh In. It kinda jump starts your week as well as making you kinda watch over the weekend. Otherwise I would eat on the weekends thinking, "Geez, I've got all day Monday to make up for it." Hope it works out for you.

Mary: Two is such a cute age. They almost know what's going on and get soooo excited. I bet you had a great time. * Sorry your honey is under the weather.

Duckie: Now, now. Let's not start talking like Easter is the downfall of all diets. We can do this. It just takes a little planning this week.

Well girls, it's a quarter to twelve and I'm afraid that I will get shoved out of here if I don't get done in time, so I will call it quits. Before I go though, I found this recipe. I forget who wanted veggie recipes, but I found this one. I have not tried it, but it sounded different, and besides it can't be all bad....there's cheese in it.

Butternut Squash, Apple, and Leek Gratin

The mild, garlicky flavor of leeks balances the sweetness of the squash and apple cider. Try this side dish with pork, chicken, or turkey.

5 cups (1/2 inch) cubed, peeled butternut squash
1 teas. olive oil
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced leek (about 2 large)
2 cups (1/2 inch) cubed peeled Braeburn apple (about 1 pound)
1 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teas. ground nutmeg
1/8 teas. coarsely ground black pepper
Cooking Spray
1/2 cup apple cider or juice
2 (1 ounce) slices white bread
3 Tablespoons pine nuts, toasted
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Steam squash, covered, 9 minutes or until tender
3. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add leek, saute 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
4. Combine squash, leek, apple, sugar, salt, nutmeg, and pepper in a large bowl, toss gently to coat. Spoon into a 2 quart casserole coated with cooking spray, and pour cider over squash mixture. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
5. Place bread in a food processor, pulse 10 times or until coarse crumbs form to measure 1 cup. Combine breadcrumbs, pine nuts, and butter. Uncover the casserole, sprinkle with breadcrumb mixture. Bake, uncovered, an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 3/4).

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

Well it may be blizzarding this morning but it's only -6 C, but today is also weigh in day, and I am very pleases to annnouce
That I lost 4lbs. I'm so excited and pumped to carry on I may make my Birthday goal, I need to lose 5lbs this week. I think I can I think I can no I know I can I know I can.

So what kind of changes where they suppose to make to the site, I don't notice anything different.

ThinThinker: I think Perch is one of the best lake fish there is, My DB is really an outdoorsman, he loves to fish and hunt, Our freezer is stoked with Deer and Moose and ton's of perch and Jackfish (not to fond of jack fish, to many bones) I haven't had any in a really long time, should take some out for supper, anyone have a healthy recipe for cooking fish, I usually flour the fillets and fry them but that's to fattening, any idea's.

I'm from a really small town, we don't have any gym's or any recreation complex to go and excersise in, so I have to make up my own routines( which I haven't yet) When I lived in Edmonton, I went to Spa Lady and Club Fit, both lady's gym's, felt really comfortable there and enjoyed going, still paying for them though even though I can't use them, ( stupid contracts) I lost I think about 70lbs I wasn't keeping track, but my clothes were shrinking in size, first time living on my own, and then I met my DB and gained about 100lbs.

Well gotta go this week I'm going to try and get some :sheep: in

Talking All right everybody......cover your eyes!

Well, I must say. I was wrong. All the other outfits are great. Perfect, lovely and a treat to wear. The latest...........well, I think I'll ask to be buried in it. It certainly looks like a death shroud. For those of you that want to know, it is a very dark purple and believe it or not, there are no animals or creatures of the wild on the front, it has a design that looks like it was painted by that famous painter (that I can't of course remember his name right now) you know, the one that had all those bizarre paintings......the guy that cut his ear off? Van Gough (AND YES, I KNOW I DID NOT SPELL HIS NAME RIGHT) if that is even his name...................Anyways it has red , black and green triangles and stripes and mismatched shapes on it. Do any of you remember that old cartoon called "The line and the dot?" It kinda reminds me of the crinkly wire that the dot was hanging out with until the line learned to make really pretty shapes with himself. <<<<For those of you that don't know the cartoon, sorry to confuse you. Anyways, this has got to be the worst one yet. Holy Moses! I would be even too ashamed to take it to Goodwill. I don't know what she is thinking. Maybe she needs to get her glasses checked. Maybe she suddenly went colorblind. I don't know?!?!

Mary: Of course you had to eat some cake and icecream for his birthday. I always feel obligated to eat some at birthday parties too. Am sooo hungry right now. Do you know anyone who is having a party anytime soon? I could invite myself! Glad your DH is home. Will you need to borrow some sillystring from 2cute when he feels better??

Duckie: Good for you staying OP all week! That is a success in itself! And don't you worry about Easter. You are getting stronger every day and that ol' chocolate won't taste half as good as being healthy and fit feels!!

Lucky: There...........are you happy?? I have my, uh............I mean our new outfit! I think you will really like it. Each outfit has gotten worse, and I think she realizes that. I can't wait for the next one...........

Jen: Don't know if I have mentioned it or not, but I am so happy to see you post more often! You always make me laugh. Congrats on staying within your calories this week and doing your exercise.

Kat: The recipe for the chicken and rice sounded really good. I printed it out and will be fixing it one day this week. I love anything that is simple and quick. Sounds low fat too. Looove the Hawaiian shirt story too. It seems we all have someone who loves us or NOT enough to send us these lovely clothes!

Malia: Wow! I would LOVE to have a day to pamper myself like that from head to toe. Good for you! We all need to do that for ourselves from time to time. It seems that so many times we get caught up with the kids, DH, family, friends and others that we forget ourselves. Thank you for helping me remember to take just a few minutes out for myself today!

Thin: Thanks for the recipe! It sounded really good! You reminded me of something too. I need to eat more fish. Other than going through the drive-thru at Captain D's or Long John Silvers.......I hardly ever have any fish. And of course I know, it DOES NOT taste as good as the fresh fish you've been having. I think I'll go to the fresh market or send ol' DH out fishing, of course the only thing he ever brings home is catfish, bluegill, brim or small bass. And usually they are ALL too small to even hope to eat! Usually just big enough to go in the aquarium!

Well, I guess I will go for now. Hello to everyone else and hope your having a great day! Will be back later tonight after WI (not Wisconsin)<<<<<I love to type that.

Love to all!

Good Morning All...

I have lots and lots to do today, so I will make this a quickie...I managed to switch my night off yesterday, so I could watch the Oscars! (Yeah, I'm a dork, I know!) I have to go in tonight instead, no big deal. I never saw "A Beautiful Mind," so I don't know what all the fuss was about, (other than Russell Crowe is one fine looking fellow!) Actually the only movie I DID see was "The Lord of the Rings." Oh yeah, I also saw bits and pieces of "Moulin Rouge," my daughter has that DVD...strange flick, but oddly compelling! Some of the movies whose actors were nominated, I never even heard of...(Iris, Sexy Beast !?!)...I need to get out more!

Tina...another winner, huh? My mother would NEVER buy me clothes, she never buys me anything, come to think of it...but if she did, I would have no problem telling her..."what's up with that?" The whole mother/daughter-in-law thing is what keeps me from telling my MIL exactly what I think of her taste...or lack thereof!

Thin, I actually have butternut squash in the freezer, may have to try that tonight...thanks!

Duckie, way to go on the 4 lbs! You go girl!! I know you can too! I never know what to do with fish either, but now with my handy dandy George Forman Grill...I should have NO EXCUSES! I saw a recipe the other day for catfish, Here goes: sprinkle with lemon-pepper seasoning, broil. That's it! I guess you could do that with just about any seasoning then broil or bake, it doesn't take long at all. I'll try to find some easy fish recipes...

Malia, how was the pampering session? That's fun, just what I need! A little primping and pampering makes you feel so good! Good luck on whatever happens with the job today!

Lucky...how's the weather up there? Are you staying warm? Move those muscles, girl, you'll warm up!

Jen, glad you got some exercise in, is your back feeling better? I bought a few pieces of Easter candy from someone at work with a school fund raiser, and left the bag in my locker at work...good thing too, cuz last night i was looking for SOMETHING! I settled upon low fat cinnamon graham crackers......that chocolate would have been HISTORY!

Hi to everyone else, come out come out wherever you are! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Goooood Afternooon!!

Oops...before I get started gotta check out the little boy...he is way to quiet.....

Well I just caught him sticking his toothbrush in the dog's water bowl and brushing his teeth! He just loves playing in water.

I want to sneak in here real quick before I take my son to daycare for the afternoon. Even though I am out of work right now I take him twice a week for a half day so he can still play and socialize with the kids. AND....so I can have a few hours to do stuff without him up my rear end! Need some mommy time once in awhile!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing good. Congrats to all the losers! A job well done!

Kat I didn't get to watch the oscars last night...we had company and then I was so tired I turned them on in the bedroom and out I went as soon as my head hit the pillow!

Queen....love purple! Thats my favorite color! You haven't said one word to your mom about the outfits yet? You are a good daughter!

Duckie...I haven't gotten my rear in gear as far as exercising! I was walking 2-3 miles 6 days a week and loved it! I never ever thought I would EVER say that about exercise...but it became apart of my day and when I couldn't get out I was chomping at the bit! You have snow today? Yikes! We haven't had much of a winter here. Maybe just one snow storm awhile back!

Thin...did you have your fish baked or broiled? I love broiled fish. That recipe sounds good...I will have to try it. Someone mentioned the george foreman grill. I have the small one. I will have to go upstairs and dig it out. I used it alot when I lost the weight the first time. I did fish on it too!

Malia....pampering...after having Andrew I forgot how to do all that stuff!

Jen keep up the good work!

Hi to everyone else! I have to run to daycare....don't want to be late! I will be back!

Default I'm Back.....

Well, it's been a while since I was here last. I have been so busy at home and work and the stress hasn't really eased up yet. I am doing okay OP. I lost 2 pounds this week, so I am closing in on my 50 pound star at WW, and on the 70 pound overall loss (lost 19 pounds on WW prior to getting pregnant). I am still exercising daily and counting points Monday thru Friday, and the weekends still suck eating wise, but I am still trying.

I need to get my measurements this week, so I can hopefully see inches lost, since the last time I measured.

Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well. I would love to post more, but my time is up.

Have a great day.
