Default Most Embarassing Moment...give it up!

Alright, so I was thinking today....we've all had a most embarassing moment while we've been fat. Spill it sisters!! Here is mine.

So I was attending a camp in Schroon Lake, NY...it was actually on an island. The cabins we stayed in were awesome, but the one that I was staying in with a whole bunch of girls had a rotting floor in the bathroom. It was fine until the day before we were going to leave and I went in to go to the bathroom and the floor gave out on me. My leg went straight through the floor. I ended up with a small blood clot in my leg because of it and they rushed the MALE nurse to the cabin and he looked at my leg while I was laying in my bathing suit (at 298 lbs). Mind you, this guy was HOT! All the girls were freaking out. *sigh* So THAT was my most embarassing moment at age 14.

So tell me yours!!

So. As part of my internship, it was required that I participate in our board meeting. The Board consists of well-known producers, label executives, songwriters, managers- basically anyone I would want to know upon graduating.

Well, my job during the meeting (aside from a presentation) was to make sure that the coffee tank just outside the room was always full, which meant that I had to periodically get up and check on it during the meeting.

About 20 minutes in, my boss shoots me a look like, "check on the coffee. now". So I quietly get up, approch the stairs, and immediately trip on the first step and fall flat on my face.

I thought for a split second that no one saw it, but I heard this collective "OH!" coming from the conference room as I crashed to the marble floor.

I took my son to Hershey Park. He was on a roller coaster, so I bought a drink and found a place to sit and wait. The table was concrete, and the chairs were bolted in place. Nothing moved. I slipped in ok, then when my son joined me I tried to get up but my belly was stuck under the table, and wouldn't budge! I was stuck All I could do, really, was laugh along with the people that noticed. Luckily, I laughed and jiggled my way out, lol. I would love to go back some day and sit in that same spot!

I went tubing behind my sister's boat a few years ago-to get the boat going everyone had to stand towards the front of the boat until it plained out. Which was embarrassing enough but the last time I sat in that stupid tube we got about half way across the lake the rope broke from the tube. My sister kept saying that it was an older tube and they'd been thinking of getting another one anyway. But I know they only had it a year or so. That was sort of the straw that broke the camels back and made me realise I really was fat and not just big boned.

Another horribly embarrassing moment was many years ago, my first real job. I was talking with a group of co-workers when I noticed one man kept staring at my chest. He finally pointed at them and said, "what is that?" I looked down and it was the wire from my underwire bra. Somehow it had worked it's way though my shirt and most of the wire was peaking out under the buttons. I was embarrassed and the women around me just laughed and the guy didn't have a clue even after I said it was underwire.

hehe.....I think this is a good thread to get a good chuckle because we're all laughing together, right?

My brother and I went to go in my parents pool one time and it had a stairway to get up on the deck..my brother went up first and then I followed when the brackets broke and I fell on my back on the ground and the stairs fell on top of me. My brother was laughing and I think I was laughing and crying at the same time.

Oy...
Growing up, I was very shy, but also very interested in theatre and the performing arts. The first few times I auditioned for things/went to camps for theatre, I ended up in tears and completely humiliated (even though now, I can look back and say I really had no reason to be so upset, I just had some major anxiety). It took a long time for me to get over it, and I eventually did. My senior year in high school, I got a lead role in the drama and I was so excited!! The friday night performance, there were quite a few people in the audience, people who had experienced one of those crying auditions and whatnot, people who I REALLY wanted to impress. So on my first time out on the stage, I was really charged up and ready to go... I was playing this really nasty cook and my line at that momet was "I'd appreciate it if you didn't drool in the hors d'oeuvres!"
Well the first part of the line went alright.... but when I got to hors d'oeuvres, my mouth like... spasmed! I've never felt anything like it before, and I totally stuttered... it was more like "I'd appreciate it if you didn't drool on the ho-hors-hors ON THE HORS D'OUVRES!"
OMG! How embarassing... to make it worse, the guy I was saying the line to and I locked eyes and both of us just laughed out loud... totally out of character for the two of us! But I had to continue the scene....
When I got off stage everyone was laughing and I've been "teased" about it ever since!

Luckily, about a year after I finally got an opportunity to watch a video of that night... it wasn't TOO bad but still embarassing!

There were a few that I will never tell anyone, lol! But one, that's not too embarassing but kind of funny...it was a few years ago and I was wearing some leggings and this A shaped top...I loved that outfit until this lady asked me when my baby was due. Now mind you, I was not as big as I am now...it was just the style of top and she assumed it was a maternity top. I think it was more embarassing for her than me, lol. Of course another time I was wearing a maternity top and a checker at the store asked me when my baby was due...I told her I already had it, lol. DS#2 was just about 2 weeks old and DH was watching him at home while I ran to the store...she was embarrased for some reason and couldn't quit apologizing, lol.

I worked at this video store right out of high school and part of my job was to take the garbage out - out the back door and down these rickety molded out stairs. Well I'd managed to get out of it for months - and I insisted to my boss that I was too heavy and the stairs would NOT carry my weight - but one day she got sick of it and had me do it.
Well, it had been snowing and the stairs (rickety and moldy, remember?) were also covered in ice... I put one foot on the top stair and it snapped and i fell down the entire flight.
I broke my tailbone and never had to take the garbage out again.

Most embarrassing huh, I'm not sure if I ever had a moment.
I can think of some for my husband, he's had plenty.
Oh yeah my most embarrassing moments were watching my husband have his moments. LOL
One time we went Karaoking and he had drank quiet a few beers. So it was his turn to sing and as he got up he stumbled a little, took the mike and couldn't even see the words on the screen, let alone remember them.
I kept watching him waiting for him to tip over and finally I grabbed the mike and gave it back to the Host. He was in no way shape or form to sing anything. So after that episode, I escorted him out quickly and since then, we have not been back ANYWHERE to do Karaoke.
We are however, going this weekend, and I'm hoping he doesn't do an instant replay!

brown eyes - conveniently she couldn't find the job injury paperwork - and i was too young to know any better. i just called my mom to bring me clean pants and kept working.

embarrassing moments while being fat also include Wedding dress shopping, any kind of clothes shopping, any time i see a skinny girl and wonder if she's looking at me thinking I'm her worst nightmare.... you know.*L* I pretty much feel embarrassed all the time.

Oh - struggling to get onto the bus, arms full, pants too big because i've lost some weight thank you very much... and what do i do but trip on the step and moon all the ppl behind me. THAT was a good morning.
