Mini-GoalsEven if you're not at goal yet, this is the place to share your successes and achievements along the way! Success can be measured in many ways besides the scales. Tell us about your triumphs, including Non Scale Victories
the first thing that comes out of her mouth is, "Lynsey, how much weight have you lost NOW? You can really tell today!" I said, "Still only about 15 pounds." She didn't believe me.
Isn't that an awesome feeling? No one has really said much to me, and I just don't understand why...I mean..I've lost 42 lbs!! You'd think SOMEONE would notice. *sigh*

I'm sure they've noticed. There was a discussion about this on another thread where some people were saying they did not like for others to mention their weight loss. Sometimes people were afraid to say anything because they may have thought the person was losing weight because of an illness or just did not know what to say. Keep up the good work!
Lynsey, congratulations on your weight loss! You should be proud of yourself and I know the compliment from your mother made all the difference.
I just saw your second post in this thread. I was going to mention that maybe you have lost more weight. It just has not shown on the scale yet.

People are afraid to mention it sometimes - my running friend/coworker who I have known for 12 years said to me tuesday "You can tell me its none of my business but are you thinner than when I first met you?"
This group I run with tells crass jokes CONSTANTLY, he has NO problem sending me emails with jokes that could be deemed sexual harassment, but he had to work up the nerve to ask about my weight.
Sheila, I agree with some of the other posts. People surely do notice, but aren't really sure if they should say anything for fear of possibly offending you. I felt the same way that you did after loosing about 40 lbs., no one really mentioned it, but finally, after about 50 lbs., a few people did start to comment, although most still haven't said much....I think they just don't know how to approach the subject for fear of offending. I know I have done the same (not mention anything) to colleagues who have lost weight because I didn't want to offend
itsAboutTime Congrats!! It must've made you feel fantastic.
The only people that haven't said much to me are my parents and my sisters. Given I see them once in a while (maybe once every 2 weeks or once a week), they have yet to mention anything for some reason.
