I know it’s been a while since I’ve been around. I see a lot of new faces. I’m doing well. I had that 30-40 gain after my back surgery but at least I had kept it at that. Anyway I’m ready to get serious about this again. I never really meant to leave the board but it seems like that is what we all do with the exception of a few.
Anyway for those who don’t know me I have been around here since 2003. I’ve lost half of my weight as of 12/21/05 which was 245 lbs. I am now at 282 and on my way to my new goal of 225. I plan on being there by the first of the year and that is very doable. It would mean a 2 lb a week loss and I think I can do that.
I have always been a calorie counter. I find that to be the easiest most effective and healthiest for me. I eat 1800 calories a day and drink around 90 oz of water per day.
This is a life long journey we are on. It never ends even when we get to goal. We hit a few fat bumps here and there but that’s life. Anyhow it’s good to be back and I look forward to getting to know some of you new folks. This board has been a tremendous help to me in the past and I hope I can help others.
Welcome back and glad to meet you! I've read a few of your posts and have found them helpful! You have great insight. Look forward to getting to know you better.
Hey there. It's nice to officially meet you. You have done an amazing job with your weightloss. I really am looking forward to having you be an active part of this board. I wish you continued success on this very long, though not always easy road we're on. It DOES get bumpy sometimes, doesn't it?
Howie, I hope you don't mind! I was trying to find an overview of Howie's story for those that don't know. I don't know all the details but I know he had to lose a lot (all?) of his weight without exercising due to a bad back.
This is some information from his wife about some of Howie's struggles -
