Default Anyone here remember a show called American Gladiator?

So I was channel surfing last night after work and I found an American Gladiator re-run. Now I remember why I was such a fan when I was younger. It was one of those awesomely eighties shows. Bright primary colors, slightly ridiculous costumes and cheesy gladiator names. But I still love it, especially seeing average joes and janes doing challenging physical stuff. So I just wanted to know if anyone here remembers/enjoyed American Gladiator. Thanks for reading the ramble and I'm looking forward to replies.

I loved, loved, loved american gladiators. In like 1989-90 they did a tour where I got to see them "live" with real competitors and an autograph signing...

I caught it on tv the other day, too! I used to spend Saturday afternoons on the phone with my cousin watching that show and making fun of it. (wow, we really should have been outside enjoying life, eh?)

Shannon Hall-Trujillo (no, I didn't remember her real name--I had to look it up) was on Gladiators as "Dallas". She used to have this platinum blonde spiked hair thing ala the "stop the insanity" woman and I thought she was drop-dead gorgeous.

Hadn't thought about that show for years!

LOL I remember it too! In fact when I used to live in a certain part of the country which I had best not name for fear of getting in trouble the driving was SO bad that I always called it "American Gladiator on Wheels."

I used to watch those reruns all the time! My favourite, and namesake to one of my baby chickens was Turbo Laser

Yay!! I'm glad I'm not the only one how loved it. And I know I started this thread forever ago but guess what? They brought American Gladiator back. Yeah I know the first season just ended so I win the slowest news reporter reward. But still how awesome to have it back.

Yes! I loved that show. There are new ones on TV too, Season 1 just started up and it's as cheesy as ever. There was one lady on there who was on the show in the 80's. She was real young (like 20) when she was on the first time, but now she's something like 44 with 2 grown kids and yada yada. But it was cool to see an old competitor compete against a new 20-something cheerleader. The new one is just as cheesy as ever!!!
