S/C/G: SW:226/16st - about 50lbs lost

Default Featherweights Planning and Chat for May 21st to 27th

Hello ladies and roosters

So what's the plan for this week? A little more exercise? A little less food?

I have had the parents here all weekend and managed to eat in a controlled manner and according to my hunger! Success!

On Wednesday DH and I are off to Spain via Paris for a week Should be lovely.

I'm off to the gym today, I've been missing my weights a LOT recently and I really really DO miss them like a long lost friend I have found a nice program to do (which was really what was preventing me from going - I had no clue what to do!) and I will enjoy feeling STRONG again

Talking Good Morning!

It's a holiday here today. A little bit of work and then out on the lake for the first time this season. Looking forward to a nice leisurely paddle in my kayak and then fireworks at the local park this evening after a nice dinner on our newly set up patio.

Summer - my favorite season.

Getting ready to go out for my walk. We got out storage shed moved last week and re-loaded it yesterday...so I got my workout in. Probably a good thing...since I had a big bowl of ice cream last night.

Ennay: Yikes, I guess cheap bras are out for you.

I watched an Oprah show saying that like 80% or so of women are wearing the wrong size bra. I find it strange that whenever I take my measurements, according to the tape, I should be a 40 C....but there is no way--I would swim in a 40C! I have tried 38C and they are too big. Anyone else have this problem?

Mich--Are you sure you're measuring under your boobs?? I think you take the measurement right under your boobs and add five and that's your band, right? I measure a 28 right now, so I should be in a 34, but I know when I lose weight, I measure at least an inch smaller, if not more, so I go with 32. I like my bras a bit snug anyways. All I know is I bought my 32 D's at Fredericks a few weeks ago and I LOVE them!! They are so worth it! Finding a 32 D at a department store is damn near impossible, even a 34D is hard to find...especially when you're boobs are a bit squashy like mine and you still prefer a bit of push up.

By the way--BAD WEEKEND FOR ME!! Well, food wise, anyways. We went camping and I ATE and ATE! And all the beer and marshmallows,*sigh*, it was not my best moment. The scale said, *gulp*, 152.5 when I got home!! It was 149 this morning, but that still puts me over my starting weight and wipes out the few pounds I had lost. I'm not doing good at all. Has anyone tried the Zone diet? I have a friend who swears by it.

Well, I'm off. Errands to run, calories to burn.

Good Morning!!! Notice a few more lbs gone. I hope to have another 2lbs for end of week goal!! I take my daughters to Victorias Secret and have them measured. I am an A-B so I wear whatever cute pushup bra is on sale. My 17 yr old is a full D. My 14 yr old is passing me up too. I am the only skinny no boobs on both sides of my family. That is why they are so gleeful about me being FAT for the first time in my life. My whole family is over weight and I was always worried I would be fat like my mother ( she is over 300lbs.)So I haver always been scared of getting fat. I always have my daughters measured because I have no idea. My mother helps all the time in that dept.

Let's see, - what for this week? Hmmm... ... I want to do exactly as I did last week! Guess that's a pretty good thing to be able to say. The past week just went very well. Smart eating. Good on water. The exercise I planned. (I'm so close to maintenance now, that I'm down to 2 hours/week.) Did lose another 1/4-inch at waist, woo hoo! The scale says a half-pound down.

I never do weights any more but T-Tapp instead, but good luck to you on new program and hope you enjoy, Fru - wow you really did well with parents visiting.

Saving equipment? - I gathered my dusty low-weight dumbells and will give them to Goodwill. (up to 5 pound) Had already given my 5 and 10 to my teen son (he should probably declutter them because he has a weight room at work). I don't believe in carrying hand weights for walking, either, because the weight-swinging isn't good for my back, so what was I saving them for? I had always wondered if I might work my The Firm tape back into my rotation, but I can't find it! I've got a Richard Simmons that I might get back out if we have a blue moon, but it's the one where he's using canned food for the brief weights section anyway!

Bra fitting - I've found that the so-many-inches-up rules for bra bands don't work well. I am 30.5 inches underbra. But I have both size "36"s and "38"s that require extenders. The different manufacturers just are not consistent that I can tell. I have to try on.

Looking forward to hearing how we're all doing.

Good morning everyone!! I'm back from Vegas. What a relief to get back. I am totally not into crowds and it is just amazing the number of people who flock there. I did okay with eating and my scale is the same as when I left, so that is good.

Mini-rant: If the invitation for the wedding states 6:00 PM, then the wedding should start at 6:00 PM (or very close to that time). Etiquette suggests you be there a couple minutes early for seating--right? So DH and I arrive at 5:40 (we knew traffic would be horrible in Vegas and we were a tad earlier than we meant). We find the place, walk in and it's VACANT. The wedding planner says to us, oh, that wedding is at 7:30. 7:30?!?!? What the? So we head across the parking lot to a smoky old pub/casino to kill some time. Turns out the person who made the invitations put 6:00 PM on purpose because some of the people who were invited are flaky and wouldn't be on time if the invitation said 7:30 (or even 7:00). I mean, how RUDE!!! And the worst part of it is that our friends KNEW that the invitations were made like this and didn't have the decency to tell us. Anyway, it was a nice wedding.

Talking Fashionably late - OT

It's very difficult to deal with people who think it's "cool" to always be late. I think they're really insecure and/or egotistical to make a roomful of people wait for their entrance. Or just totally disorganized and with no sense of how long things take - my DH. He used to drive me nuts when we were dating. I sat in more bars and had more men hit on me while waiting for that man!

My family had the opposite problem whenever we had to go somewhere and my dad was driving. He was always ready an hour early and would bug us and bus us until we left waaaayy too early. After the 3rd time my cousin answered the door in his underwear or wet from the shower and clad in a towel my mom and I decided to do something.

We ended up sitting around in our underwear until we heard my dad gunning the car engine. Then it took us 10 minutes to be out the door and we were still early but not grossly so.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday. I'm off to feed a cat and then paddling. Am OP so far this week and will NOT have fries and gravy tonite at the fireworks no matter how much DH waves his in front of my face!

Hi everyone, the week is starting off good -- over the weekend I did a urban hike (walking 4 miles through a downtown shopping district, windowshopping and stopping for a cup 'o joe) it felt good. Especially after 2 happy hour drinks

On a less happy note, my car is making a strange noise over the weekend (Saturday night to be exact) -- I'm guessing the muffler or catalytic converter needs fixing (and praying that the latter doesn't need to be replaced, that'll be quite a bit of change to drop). Hoping that my car will survive until next Saturday for the mechanic to look over (other than the weird noise it makes when I step on the accelerator too hard, it seems to be functioning OK).

Anyways, looking forward to lunch today (Souplantation, and they're having strawberry month specials -- strawberry-tossed salad, fat-free strawberry mousse, strawberry buttermilk muffin) -- but crossing fingers for willpower to stop at one serving.

Good grief, Allison, the wedding may have been pretty, but it was not "NICE". Not to YOU! My dh would have left and never come back. Even if I were alone and not thinking of him, I would have probably left a note (with the 6:00 time on it) telling the couple I looked forward to seeing them some other day. How hard on you, to wait in confusion for 90 minutes in a strange neighborhood. The couple thinks so much of their "flaky" friends that they took care of them at your expense. ((Allison))

Congratulations on a few pounds, Angela.

Hope the car trouble is no big deal, AquaWarlock.

Got in my workout today.

Bra sizing - adding 5 is usually too much. I measure 29" around my band (the same as my waist...joy) Nordy's adds 4 which puts me right between a 32 and a 34. When we try them on its 32 on the loose hook or 34 on the 3rd hook. You are supposed to buy at the loosest hook because bras stretch. If I buy a 34 - which I do often because they are easier to find, I have to replace them in about 2 months because there is nowhere to tighten.

Michelin - I would be VERY surprised if you were a 38 or 40. If you have been wearing an improperly sized bra, the right size band should feel a bit uncomfortably tight the first time you wear it.

allison...I would have left. Its stuff like that that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get dh to get to stuff on time. He says I am always too early. He is ALWAYS late. Even to the movie theater, he wants to get there so the previews are done, which has meant a lot of missed beginnings for us. If I tell dh I want to leave at 5:30 to go somewhere, he will start getting READY at 5:30 rrrrr.

But a wedding? Dang...even he knows that means the ceremony STARTS at the time listed.

Back from Souplantation - lunch was heavier than usual, but I did manage to portion control my food and stopped with one (or less) portion of everything:

--Salad (half chicken wonton salad, half strawberry salad, with tomatoe wedges and little bit of egg on top)

--Soup (1 bowl of their big chunk chicken noodle with scallions, 1/2 bowl of cream of mushroom)

--Bread/Pasta (1 strawberry buttermilk muffin, 1 sliver -2 bites worth- of foccacia pizza, 2-3 forkfuls of their bruschetta pasta & spaghetti and meatballs)

--Dessert (sugar-free strawberry mousse with a strawberry topping)

--LOTS of iced water

I'm guesstimating I had about 800-900 calories there, which isn't that big a deal since I had a light breakfast and planning on a light dinner (and given how full I am now, probably will forgo the afternoon snack), but yea -- very delish and a pretty good deal for $7.

I've given my muffler, which looked a little slanted, a few good kicks and it seems the weird noise volume have decreased... wondering if I can fix it altogether on my own (and really hoping I didn't further aggravate it)
