Afternoon girls

School was out here today for teacher's in-service but I had to work and go to a meeting. So I went in this morning alittle late and got off early. Not bad for a Monday...huh. Just one of the perks of being the boss..LOL.

Welcome Gail So glad you picked our group to join. I hope you find all the support and you need to lose your weight. This is a great bunch of gals!! Look forward to getting to know you.

I guess you just go day after day just waiting for something to click in your brain , because then you will know you have to do this thing once in for all. This morning I was trying to find something comfortable to wear to work. After trying on several pairs of jeans, I had to get the size 18 jeans { BACK} out of the closet. Because even the SIZE 16 stretch jeans seemed to tight. The scales doesn't say I've gained any weight but I sure haven't LOST any weight in months either.
It was like something clicked.....because I sure don't want to drag out the 24 jeans ever again.!!! SO I am going to get this last 25 pounds off!! Once in for all!!! I have been more determined today than I have been in months. I AM GOING TO DO THIS THANG!!!!!
Sorry.....just wanted to share that EYE-OPENING experience with everyone...

Hope eveyone is having a GREAT afternoon!!
Will post more later....hugs...deb

Gayle,Sherry,Debbie,Carol,Shelley I am thinking of joining you with the weight watchers.....

Well called the doctors office and may have to have more tests run. Why, I don't know my primary doctor knows and been treating my for parathyroid problem for 2 yrs. now ...But more putting it off. They wait to long I may just not have this surgery.

Things otherwise are holding their own.

When I smile the people around me smile also.

Try it.

Howdy Floozie Friends.........

Today was a OP day for me!!! I hope all of ya'lls were too!!

I was off work today and spent the day driving out in the country with Mom & Dad.It was a nice day.I'm slowly getting out of my bad mood so I feel like today helped.

Vicki...........I'm not on WW. I'm eating small portions and watching my fat intake.I don't think I would be good at WW because I'm sooooooo bad when it comes to keeping track of my meals, etc. Good luck with all the tests.

I was going to post to everyone but I've got a lot to do before bed since I wasn't here to do it this morning.

My weigh-in this morning was BAD!!! I had gained 4 lbs!! But I started today back on plan so I KNOW I can do it!!!!!

Monday Feb.18th..........178 lbs.

Love Ya'll...

Hi everyone! Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome here. For those of you wonder what exercise I'm doing, I'm a walker. In fact I used to walk regularly 4 hours a day, that of course was before giving birth..hahahha. Now I try and do three or 4, 20 minute stints and a longer 45 min walk after work. However being sick off and on the past month, haven't done too much walking, but feeling so much better today. Ready to get back into those ole walking shoes.

Had a lovely day meeting friends at the S. Coast Plaza, with our kidlets in Costa Mesa, CA. Then we had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe...sort of like a Disneyland minitheme park, with animated elephants, tigers, alligators, monkeys and fish tanks everywhere. This was my first time eating out since beginning my healthy eating plan on Jan. 7. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, a small dinner salad and left all of the fries. My 2 year old had a pizza and at the whole thing herself. I wasn't even tempted to steal a slice. It was a minichild's pizza. We then did some mallwalking. I probably had more calories and carbos than on a typical day, but felt that I chose a healthy selection and did not overeat. Going out to lunch every now and then is good for the soul!

Anyway, thanks for your welcoming notes and unconditional acceptance. I really do believe that I am truly blessed and feel even though I am not at my idea weight, life is pretty perfect most of the time. I may not get to post in here as often as I like...time constraints during the week, but that doesn't mean that I don't care about ya all. In fact, some of the best friends I have to this day, are those I met through online BBS's way before there ever was an Internet.

So on to a great week of drinking lots and lots of H20, happy cheery thoughts and lots of exercise.

Hugs!

Gail

Default Encouragement

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all of their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead.

Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches three lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue.
An encouraging word to someone who is down
can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be
what it takes to kill them. Be careful of what you say.
Speak life to those who cross your path.

3. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Just don't
let others make you believe you can't.

Wanted to share this with all of you. Really makes you think. At least it did me.

I will post more tonight when I have time.

Have a great day!!!

Thank you Carol for the note. It might just be frogs in the story, but it delivers a powerful message!!! I know personally with my dieting, it all depends on my "mind set". And I know in the past, I have set myself up to fail. Thanks again for sharing!!!
Gail, I'm glad to see you post again!!! Make it back whenever you can and remember we are here if you need us!!!
Deb, Sher and Shelley: Did you guy's enjoy the day off??? Hope you all stayed out of trouble!!!!!!
Vickster: I was just teasing you about MIL. tee-heee... I know how much you like the ol' gal!!!! Pick a time to chat soon!!!!!
Well, I had day #1 of the WW online plan. I made it through the day with no mistakes, it will take awhile to catch on to the whole point thing instead of watching my fat and calories so much. It really looks like it will be an easy plan to follow, plus you can budget for fast food or whatever and still lose. Wish me luck!!!!
I'm off for a busy day of it, you guys take care!!!! Love, Gayle

Hi Ladies

I have been reading the posts but haven't had the energy to post. I doing ok though. Starting to pick up again.
My lady from home care never came today to clean the house. I hope that she can make it another day this week. I am not to sure if I can wait it out 2 weeks without cleanning the house. I am one of those neat freaks!

Happy be-lated anniversary Sherry. I hope it was a great one. Sherry I really hope that your pulling out of the blues state. It can be a struggle and it definitly has an effect on what you eat. That is wonderful that you had a good on program day. It will motivate you to stick to it today. Yesterday was a good day for me too. I think that I am back to the old grind.

Glad to have you join us Gail. You will feel right at home with these great ladies. They are wonderful.

Gayle I am jealous....it looks like you had a perfect valentine's day. Larry was in Florida and my kids were working so I spent the day reading a book. You will see that ww is very flexible. That is what I like about it because there is no such thing as cheating ....you eat what you want and just have to count it.

Carol I give you green for that great frog story. Boy can I relate. That's great. Thanks for sharing.

Vicki you are so possitive under the stress of your condition. That's great. I will say a prayer for you today. I know what it is like to have to wait for tests or specialist appointments. When I was waiting for my heart operation I thought that I would die before I had it. It is just a waiting game. Keep on smiling.

Hey Debbie! How is it going? That must have been nice to have an easier day yesterday. Just think that you are almost through today and then there is only 3 more days until the week-end. I am glad that you are motivated again. Just reading your story about your jeans motivated me too. I don't ever want to be like I was before. Thanks for sharing.

Shelly I think a while back you asked me for snack ideas.....I will post some 1-2 point snack that I have. I 'll post later today. Your doing great with the jogging. I love to jog but my Dr won't let me.

Hi Doni hope that you have a good day.

To anyone else I missed I hope that the sun is shining in your face. Have a good one!
