Default Newbie here! WHAT color should I start??

My mom in law has handed me her paperwork etc... and she gave me the PURPLE PLAN... I don't want to put her on the spot and ask her if the PURPLE PLAN is right for ME though?

I am 207 pounds and 5'6. I am 35 years old and I don't work out....

could someone, easily, tell me where to begin?

Again, I have the PURPLE PLAN books, but if I should be on another plan to lose weight, can you then tell me what I should change from the purple???

many many thanks!! I look forward to being around here often!!!

Actually, the purple plan sounds just right! Maybe Deb (MTDebster) can chime in because I think she's about your height. You would move to gold around 190 maybe? I'm shorter and am moving to gold at 181.

Welcome!

Thanks Bizlawchik - what is this based on>?? Is there a CHART somewhere that I can refer to - so that I can figure out when one moves on to another color?? or, how another color changes the food intake??

I appreciate your quick reply!!!

good luck to you!!!

No, not really. Just hang out here and you'll pick it up is my best advice. The Losers and Friends thread is where most of our chatter goes on. On gold you lose a veggie and the protein sizes are smaller by 2oz. One veggie burger instead of 2. Two eggs instead of 3. Keep following the purple plan until at least 190 and see if you slow down.

Are you starting with Fast Forward? That's the two day juice, unlimited protein and unlimited green veggies that they do to kind of shock your body and help it give up the water weight faster.

Hey Biz,

YEP... My mom in law gave me that big 32 oz bottle of juice... I did half H2O, half juice so far (today is day one for me on this)

and tomorrow I will continue the Fast Forward... she also gave me some bars that she has... she's been on this plan for about a year now and has been successful!

How do you find it? Is it easy enough for you??

Oh, and is this board active?? or quiet??

thanks for all your help already! I hope I can return the favor one day!

This is a very active board. I attribute my success on the program to the awesome support I have found here. The program does take some getting used to, but it's a lifestyle change. I've done WW at least 25 times, but I figured that it's not going to help if I keep spending 10 points on 5 light beers every weekend. I'm in it for the long haul, and that's what I like about this program. Going to weigh in 3x/week keeps me honest. And the year-long maintenance program is better than any other program I've seen.

Good luck on FF. I'm actually on my second day of Take Off myself. That's the juice, with 6oz protein, 2c veggies and 2 bars. Much more limited. But I feel your pain.

My wife started at 205 on the red plan and had good success there.. She's on the Purple now, and has had plateau problems..

Whatever you do, make sure you eat as much as the plan tells you to eat.. Remember this is a diet that forces you to eat, not starve!

It all depends on what your activity level is too.

I started on Red, have yo-yo'd on Red, and have been repeatedly told I can't leave Red.

I started at 172, have dropped 16 pounds and 20 inches . And work-out 6-7 hours a week. The whole reason I'm on Red is that I don't sit still at work in additon to those crazy workout hours.

I assume you're doing the plan on your own? Going to the COD is what keeps me on plan, I need someone to be held accountable too!

Im wondering along the same lines...Im 137.6 today and have re-started my workouts now that its nice and warm out...I started back last week on Gold with Lites and now, Ive already workd out almost 2hrs and will probably end up with 3-4 for the week...should I change the plan or just go on as normal? Did I mention my big fear is starvation mode and gaining??? I cant ask COD since my contract ended last year and this is my restart on LAWL on my own...anyone have an opinion??

You would be moved to the next color plan if you consistently exercised 5 hours per week or more.

I think your plan colour also depends if you are doing lites or not. I am 5'4 - 5'5 and started at 224, but am on red with no lites. I would be on purple if I was doing lites.

They told me they will switch me to purple plan with no lites when I hit 187 lbs.

Hope this is a help!!

That's correct also (but she said she was doing the lites)
