Default My order from Adagio Teas

I ordered from them for the first time and got free overnight delivery as I'm in the same state...what a pleasant surprise. I got display teas and cup as a gift.

BUT, my shipping box REEKED of cigarettes....I haven't opened the tea yet, but hope it's OK.

Has anyone else had this problem? I sent email to their customer service but haven't heard back....?

I doubt it is a FED-ex problem because my order arrived less than 18 hours after I placed it..so it wasn't in transit for long.

I've NEVER had a problem with Adagio Teas. In fact I just got my lovely order last week and my box didn't smell like anything at all.

If the BOX smelled like cigs, most likely it was the delivery driver person.

That's what I thought at first.....but the box wasn't in their possession long enough to get stinky....I ordered at 230PM yesterday and it was at my house before 10AM....and there's been no damp wet weather either?

I could smell it across the kitchen, weird because it was a thick sturdy box. I thought I was having a *flashback* to 20 years ago (when i used to smoke), but I put my nose on it and YUCK.

What kind of tea do you like best? I ordered a sample of Jasmine#12, i love regular Jasmine tea, it got such good reviews.

That certainly sounds strange. Please post to let us know how the tea tastes. I've never ordered from them, but I do order loose tea from Stash Tea and I like theirs.

I will, I'm sure everything is tightly packaged in plastic or sealed so it will be OK.

I didn't realize that they are less than 50 miles from my house.....I wonder if they have a store? MY BF drives all over state, I'm going to ask him to stop by when he's in the area....

I didn't think the state law allowed smoking in the workplace anymore?

Personally, I'd complain to FedEx. No delivery person should be smoking around their deliveries. What if you were having a box of clothes or something that wasn't air-tight being shipped. Do we all have to be subject to the delivery person's bad habits? I'd definitely complain to FedEx.

On the other hand...I've looked at the Adagio Tea website and thought it would be a great place to order tea. Anyone else order from there? Any suggestions? How do you brew "loose" tea?

The ball, as EZMoney was so kind to display, is an easy way to do it. In a pinch I've just boiled the loose tea in a pot and strained it out. You can also buy empty tea bags, which was my favorite until I got a tea pot with a strainer built in from my dad for Christmas. I would start with a hibiscus. There are many kinds, but just the plain ones are good. They take to honey or lemon really well or taste really good plain. It smells like a cross between pommegranite and cranberries.... yum... I've never ordered from them personally- I just go to a local tea store, but I know a lot of folks who have been happy with them.

I would also like some suggestions for future reference

Just got a reply from customer service that no one smokes in their warehouse......still haven't tried the tea yet (its a V.Day gift)....but I alos asked if they sell to any local stores...YES! This brand is carried by Wegman's, so I'll have to look the next time I go grocery shopping. ( i think wegman's is just east coast store)
