We woke up to a surprise couple of inches of snow! All the schools are on a delay, and a lot of government offices, too. I have our local radio station on right now, and they're saying the roads are treacherous and there's a lot of accidents and are advising people to just stay home until things clear up a little. Wouldn't you know it, I have my hair appt at 8, and she lives about 8 miles from me on back country roads. I knew this would happen when she rescheduled me on Monday. Darn! I'll probably have to cancel out and try to get an appt for next week.
My coffee just stopped perking, so I'm going to get a big mug. I'll be back a little later.

What's happening today for you?

It's back to training for another day. I think I about fried my brain yesterday. The best thing about the week has been sleeping in. Class doesn't start until 8, but then it doesn't get out until 4:30...which makes our evenings all screwy.

Yesterday's weather was so nice! As soon as we got home, I changed into jeans and a light sweatshirt and headed outside to take down the Christmas lights. So glad that's finally done, but sometime this spring, I'll have to get up on the ladder and remove all the tabs that didn't fall or break off. I just pulled the lights down. It was pretty funny to watch the little plastic tabs snap off along the garage roofline.

I'm off to brew my coffee and put together my food for the day. Happy Hump Day!!

Good morning, Cottage. Snow can sure screw up things when you're not used to it. I hope you can get your appointment rescheduled.

Jet, jeans and a T-shirt!!!! You just had to say that! We are still in the deep freeze and I am about to lug the garbage out to the road. Never mind! It's 75 today in Florida and I have three more sleeps.

Just as I was going out the door yesterday to do pet therapy, the phone rang. It was Eve from the Long Horn begging me for help in an emergency so I ended up switching pet therapy to tonight and working there from 5 to 10! I have not been a server since I was 18 - 50 years ago! It was kind of fun though. I have cooked for her on occasion but she roped in another friend to handle that. I hope I didn't screw up their computer system too badly. Things have sure changed from the days when you just had a pad and pencil. Anyhow, I did it and my legs aren't too sore today. She now owes me - BIGTIME! I'm really glad nobody ordered fancy drinks - beer is the norm in Delta on wing night.

Lots on my plate today - a financial report to do for the Cemetery Board, banking, the library and I really do want to get to town to buy something special and summery for my trip. Time is running out! I also need to confirm my flight - 72 hours happens at 11 this morning.

Outta here, Ruthie!

Have a lovely day, Beach Babes!

Morning everyone!

Hey Cottage! We got Snow too!! I was really hoping that work would be closed... but no luck. All of the schools are closed though... it seems unfair hahaha

But... good news, I went food shopping last night, went to the gym, did the laundry, and made the taco bake... a very productive night. And the best part... my scale has forgiven me for eating all of that beer bread and crab dip at the Superbowl party

Now... I am where I was before my eating spree. I am feeling good though and want to thank all of you for cheering me on yesterday! Made sure that I went to the gym in the cold weather.

Well... have a good day. I need to make some breakfast and get a cup of coffee

Good morning chicks, it is freezing here again today, no wind but still cold cold cold.I am feeling better today thank goodness but still crampy. Oldest DD is giving us a little grief lately seems like the only thing important is the cell phone and the computer. So she has lost her phone for a few days and we are the worst parents in the world, we don't love her or understand her. Why is it that we can't wait for them to grow up and when they do we wish they were small again. Well must dash dh needs me. Be back soon.

Good Morning, Shenan, that's too bad that your work wasn't cancelled. Be careful driving today. Good for you to making it to the gym and ridding yourself of that Superbowl baggage!

Ruth, I'll bet that was kinda fun last night waitressing, wasn't it? Waitressing is hard work, and they sure don't get the recogition that they deserve. You're a real sweetheart for helping out.

Jet, that must have been funny watching those tabs go flying. Be careful when you climb up on that ladder!

I have to leave in a few minutes. With the 2 hour school delay, it messed up our schedules, and Audrey has to be at school at 10:15, and I have to take her. Maggie has the day off, so it'll be just her and me most of the day. We'll do something fun together. I was able to get re-scheduled for this coming Monday for my hair, I sure hope nothing gets in the way of this appointment!
Gotta run and start clearing the snow off my car! Have a wonderful day!

Morning all you Polar Bears on the Beach!
Poor Cottage! Yer hair's gonna be the length of Rapunzil's at this rate!
Jetsetter: What classes are you taking?
Shen: Whew I'm tired just reading all you got done yesterday! Be careful on them roads ya hear.
Ruth: Another Busy day fer you!!! I bet folks in the Delta loved having you as their waitress!
LC: remember when we were teens or preteens.. My dad wanted to surgically implant the phone in my ear!

Poor DH, he was in major sticker shock looking at cupboards yesterday. Our first stop was to a place where all they do is custom cabinetry. DH admired the craftsmanship so much that everything else we looked at was crap to him. He's been so busy reading up on all General Contracting stuff, and getting a feel for the cost of raw materials..that he didn't believe me when I said for a better than builder grade quality but not top of line , it would run anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 to do the whole kitchen with appliances, flooring, cabinetry etc. The poor man!
I'm off to food shop... must pick up Turkey things for the fireside soup!

It's only a little past morning and I'm able to check in and say "HI". I ended up working from home yesterday since I didn't want to drive far on 3 hours of sleep. I got off work after 9 hours and was able to pick up Brian and fix us pita bread pizzas before it was time to head for the den meeting. After a half hour there, I left him and DH there and headed to the District Committee meeting. I gave my report on camp and was able to talk to some people that I needed to.

District wants us to get our mailers out this week and council wants us to wait until we get approval on a supplement from national. What did I agree to when I said I'd do this! Oh, well, it will all work out. I found out at National Camp school that our is the biggest amount all the camp represented at the school. And that was with last year's 551 boys. This year they want us to grow to 800! The thought of the budget I am managing for this is scary!

Thanks for the sweet words gals.... you all have been the greatest support.

Cottage Were you able to get in for your haircut this morning?

Jet How was your training today? We have had a stretch of nice weather days here as well. I think they are supposed to end tonight.

Ruth So did you make much in tips?? I spent about 6 years waiting tables on the weekends and during the summer. I actually did that up until I was about 6 months pregnant with my first. It is such quick, easy money!!

Barb You have been SO busy lately. I hope you can squeeze in some "me" time soon.

Schatzi I would imagine that the whole process is one giant sticker shock!!

LC Of course you are the worst parents. What kind of parents would want to set limits for their children? (joking, of course....) With two daughters, I know these are going to be some of our future battles that I am not looking forward to.

Shenanigans Crab dip and beer bread?? Food porn...... you lost that cheat weight fast... WTG!!

I am worn out this week and can't seem to get over it!! It was all I could do to get home and fix my girls something for dinner. I had leftover chili and some Triscuits. Not enought veggies, I know that for sure.

Gonna curl up and doze off into nighty night land.
