Just reading the boards, seems like most of us have a goal weight of 150, for me it a sense able goal..how about others?
Why did you set it at that weight?

For me, I set my goal weight based on my height and going to the "higher" end of what I should be. I have another 150lbs to reach that goal... maybe more so 149lbs at this point.

Hi Sandy!
I've noticed that, too! Maybe it's because so many of us are 5'5"-5'8" and the BMI for "NORMAL" is about there.
For me, I set my goal at 160 because that was my weight on my wedding day. Our oldest son is getting married this August, and since he and his fiancee are athletes and real heath nuts I wanted to give them a special gift- a future HEALTHY and THIN babysitter for their future kids. I also thought it would be a nice goal for myself to rid myself of all the pounds I have accumulated over my 30 years of marriage!
Can't believe the portions that I used to eat for SO MANY YEARS! How I could have been in denial for so long? I think of that EVERY DAY!

My goal is set for the higher end of my "normal" range, and I figure that when I get there I'll re-evaluate and see if the goal needs to be a bit lower. Right now, I think I mostly want to input my height and weight and see NORMAL come up on the screen instead of OBESE!

Well, I would like to lose 150 as well. (Right now my goal is 136). It is on the low side of a healthy BMI for me and it is a nice round lovely number that would get me to a nice low weight.

I wish I was taller so 150 would be my recommeded weight. But at only 5'2" 135 is at the high end, even considering my age.

I like 150 because it's do-able. It is still in the overweight category for me, but I never expected to be a size 000!
I can't even fathom being 150 and don't know what size I'd be at that weight at all. I don't remember what age I was when I weighed that. I'd love to find out...and then go from there. I never want to be a size that I can't maintain.

I haven't been less than 180 since I had my daughter. I was 160 when I got pregnant. 150 when I graduated High School. My lowest high school weight was 129 at age 15. I used to always say I just wanted to be 175. But really for my body type, being a size 12 or 14 is 150 and just barely under the BMI for normal. So there it is - my reasoning why! I used to think I'd never make it, but I stopped thinking negatively and decided to go for it!

I also want a weight that is reasonable for me to attain, and in my mind, 150 is the magic number! If I go lower than that, I will be tickled, and I will keep at it (not stopping at 150 if my body will go lower) For me, it will be WONDERFUL just to see that number on the scale again!

Lol, I read the post wrong!!!
I thought it meant that people had a total weight loss goal of 150lbs, not to weigh 150lbs! Oooops.
For me, 150 is overweight and I wanted to get to normal (which I am at now yay!) but I would like to push even lower.

My dr. set my goal at 150. I lowered it to 145 just to prove to me and him that I could do even more than he expected of me. I weighed 135 in high school and would have liked to get there, but with now being 46 yrs. old and having a slower metabolism, that is just not maintainable for me.

I have no idea how I will look or feel at 150. I just chose that number as a goal for now. Depending on how I feel, I might be higher or lower than that. Anything below 200 would be fantastic to me right now!
