I was thinking today about the thing that I liked best about FINALLY getting this weight off and thought maybe it might be fun to find out all of YOUR "best things" about losing the weight that YOU have lost.
Here's mine:
The best thing about FINALLY losing weight is that I can move around so much easier and faster and have SO much more endurance.
Anyone else have something special that YOU appreciate about your weight loss?
-Feeling stronger -Feeling sexier
-Sleeping better
-Fitting into all those old "skinny" clothes!! Looking foward to those "skinny" clothes falling right off.
- feeling good naked! (I know you were all thinking it )
- WANTING to run, because I feel lighter and more agile
- going to the beach and not being self conscious
- that ultra feel-good feeling that comes from knowing that you're who you want to be and that the only person who ultimately got you there was you
I have several:
1. taking fewer medications
2. being more active in my DD's life
3. wearing smaller clothes
4. not having my specialist gripe at me about my weight
5. getting compliments from friends and family
6. being stared at by strange men when I'm out in public and my 14 yr. old DD saying "mom, those guys are checking you out". LOL
7. not being short of breath
8. making eye contact with people
9. feeling sexy
10.able to walk my adorable dog without wearing out before she does
11. being able to find clothes that fit in my closet, without squeezing into them and having huge rolls hanging over
12. not having to hide behind others in photos
13. feeling like I control food , it doesn't control me anymore
I've got a looong way to go and I certainly do look forward to the things that you've all mentioned. But for the time being here are somethings that I already am enjoying:
I love how proud my family is of me. I could just cry thinking how I've taken away from THEIR quality of life because of me being so overweight. Just horrible and selfish of me.
I must say I love hearing the compliments and people asking ME, yes ME for weightloss tips. Who woulda thunk it?
Being narrower, taking up less space.
This is a little evil, but nevertheless - I am no longer the "fattest" of my friends. I'm sorry I know that sounds terrible.
When I go shopping in the big girl stores I was on the verge of not fitting into their largest size, and in fact depending on the cut of certain things DID NOT fit into the largest size they had and now I am wearing their SMALLEST size.
Unfortunately I'm not quite up to the running a marathon stage, but yes I am moving around better and I already have more energy. But boy oh boy do I look forward to taking this all the way and really, truly reaping the health benefits.
I too have a long way to go but it is wonderful to be able to stand at work all day and then realize that my feet don't ache anymore. I no longer want to go home and lay on the coach and rest my poor tired feet.
I think for me it will be no longer being the black sheep of the family. My two brothers are like models, both of their wives thin and gorgeous, and both of my parents are thin and look excellent for their age...... and then there's me. I'm the one that doesn't fit in the picture.... I never have. I know it embarasses them, and they don't understand why I don't just lose weight (like it's so easy). Anyhow, that would be the best for me, feeling like I belong with my own family.
