Scale Watchers Tip From the Metric System
The metric system is based on a pretty logical premise that can help us put weight fluctuations into perspective.
Bear with me a minute.
One liter of water weighs one kilogram.
One liter is about a quart and one kilogram is about 2.2 lbs.
The mug of coffee I'm drinking is about 300 mls. Which is .3 of a kilogram or about 2/3 of a pound!
My favourite water bottle full is over a pound.
Now imagine a time when your feet, hands and face all feel a little puffy. Imagine how much water that is!
Remember 2frustrated talking about doing cardio until her chin drips in a puddle on the floor? That's a lot of water and water is heavy.
People laugh when we say we have to pee before we get on the scale but a good full bladder can hold over a pound of water.
Keep this all in mind when you see a scale fluctuation of a 1/2 or 2 lbs. especially if it was quick.
Pardon the pun but that's hardly a drop in the bucket when it comes to the huge percentage of a what human being is made of.
