Question Trader Joes

Hi I am going shopping at Trader Joe's tomorrow for the first time. What foods should I look out for? I am counting Fat and Calories!

Red face

Hi Laura!

There's soooo much at TJ's that I'd hate to make any specific recommendations.

Just make sure you take your reading glasses so you can read all those labels.

You'll find lots of stuff you've NEVER seen before, but you do need to be very careful of the labels.

Lots and lots of the items are high fat, but there are many more lower fat items available.

Just go and enjoy!

Default Thanks

I got lots of great stuff. Cat Cookies and Pirates Booty are great, as are the Thai Kitchen Spring Noodles. I also got some frozen fruit and Soy Ice Cream. Darn it all my kids like the Pirates Booty, I am going to have to stock up!

In the dry foods section, near the Thai food are Indian meals that come in a thin box, no need to refrigerate. The Channa Masala is excellent, has lots of fiber and two servings to the pouch inside. Just take it out of the pouch, microwave for 2 mins or less and you have a satisying meal.

A few of my favorites: Kashi Go Lean cereal, Kashi Go Lean Bars in Choc. Peanut Butter, Choc. covered soy nuts, Meringue cookies, reduced fat cheeses and of course the choc cat cookies.
