Yesterday I caught up with a friend of mine who I havent seen in over a year, and she has lost 4 stone on the Cambridge Diet. She was trying to get me to go on it, but I had a look at their website and somehow I dont think it can be very healthy to have just 400 cals a day
Mind you, my friend does look great though.
Has anyone tried this?
As Veggie said I am doing LighterLife which is almost the same as cambridge diet.
I have so far lost 3stone 2lbs in 9 weeks and feel great. The quick weight loss really helps keep you focused and in LighterLife you also have 2 hours sessions with your group to help you understand what leads you to overeat and help you develops tools and stratigies for when you return to "normal" food.
After I have finshed loosing the weight I will go into "root to management" which slowly re introduces food and helps you understand when you are hungry and how to make helthy choices on what to eat.
I have found this the best diet ever and cannot recommend it enough ( and trust me I have tried almost everything out there)

I have done Cambridge now twice, both times falling off the bandwagon when normal life gets in the way. It is a quick weight loss but it means suspending normal life for a while to do it. I lost 3 stones in about 10 weeks and kept about 2 stone off, started again and lost a stone. If you are the sort of person who needs large weight losses to keep motivated then it might be for you but just be really careful. It isn't for everybody. I'm now trying to eat sensibly and exercise which I'm told means I am more likely to keep the weight off.
I think they only do the Cambridge diet through counsellors. When I did it I was only 16 or 17, so it was almost 20 years ago now, and I'm sure things will have changed a bit since then. But the diet plan was all food supplements, except for adding a meal a day for a week every 4 weeks or so. Plus, the supplements were only available through counsellors, so you probably have to go through the normal route if you want to follow it
If you are desperate there are some of the soups and stuff being sold on eBay but they are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. If you're in to meal replacements you might be better off with Slim Fast.
